Re: Birthday Sync Problem: Displays 1 day earlier on phone compared to PC
LOL!! Thanks for this thread. Hey, at least I wasn't late for Valentines day this year!! Kept wondering why everone was taking Monday off though (my calendar showed Presidents Day (USA) as Sunday!)
DST (Daylight Savings Time) is my guess. Been messing with me ever since we switched the days a year or 2 ago. PMO (piss me off). Something needs to happen.

You might have a look on the 3rd page of this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=110285 A fix (more or less) is available there. One caveat is that even with the fix, you need to not use Automatic Network Time Sync on your phone, or it will undo the fix and return your appointments to the 1 day or 1 hour too early scenario!

Ha! yea, i post over there also! The solution is very simply... complicated. Search Windows KB's on DST & there are so many... one is about 40 pages long! Ha! Just do the cumulative .exe patch & then delete all your phone stuff & resync

WOW changing the time zone to GMT 0 (London), disabling network time, applying the fix, soft reset, syncing contacts, soft reset, change back to local time zone, then reenabling the network time.
contacts syced up fine now. finally. i tried just the DST update in the past. |

See here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...2&postcount=27 The problem recurred on my TP2 spontaneously, without my doing anything than just using the phone, turning it off at night, etc. There is still something fundamentally screwed up in all of this... |

Re: Birthday Sync Problem: Displays 1 day earlier on phone compared to PC
Here is what I did to resolve the problem on my TP2.
Go here http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_prodlist and pick your version of Outlook and install this update first for your PC. Then go here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...gs-update.mspx and pick how you want to update DST on your phone. Unplug the phone from the computer then go into ActiveSync on your phone and select options and uncheck Calendar. This will warn you that it is going to remove all Calendar events from your device. Tell it OK then go back in and recheck Calendar. Hook phone back up to PC and sync. Everything should be correct now. This worked for me and I guess time will tell if it stays that way. |
