Re: Birthday Sync Problem: Displays 1 day earlier on phone compared to PC
I started several threads about this issue.
I just posted another one up today. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=107227 I didn't get too many responses from people, so I thought it was just a select few phones that had this problem, so I returned mine and got a new one, but still the same problem. |

Re: Birthday Sync Problem: Displays 1 day earlier on phone compared to PC
As somebody was saying before, when you have birthdays filled for your contacts, sometimes windows mobile device center/acitve sync won't sync at all. It's hard to get WMDC/AS to tell you why your calendar won't sync, but one time it gave me a list of birthdays that was preventing my phone from syncing. Once I deleted those birthday appointments, my phone was able to sync fine.
Im sure a lot of people are having this issue but just arent posting or have been dealing with it like me. I'm not sure what to do and wonder why microsoft hasn't addressed this yet. Its kind of sad... |

Re: Birthday Sync Problem: Displays 1 day earlier on phone compared to PC
I don't think people really notice this problem. Sometimes it'll be right in the contacts and wrong in the calendar or vice versa. I've hard reset several times loading my contacts and calendars from Outlook 2007/Activesync, through gmail, Microsoft My Phone and SPB Backup (all with the correct information) but once it loads on the phone, the info is a day off or some of my appoinments move to Jan 1. I've loaded the DST patch for Outlook and for my phone. It still didn't solve this problem. I entered each contact on my phone one by one, and that worked. The only problem is I had to hard reset yesterday, and now I'm back with this problem. I've also noticed that when you load up a pim backup, you won't be able to change a contacts birthday and have it automatically change on the calendar.

Re: Birthday Sync Problem: Displays 1 day earlier on phone compared to PC
Still no fix for this problem?
I'm using Verizon Stock ROM WM6.1, use WMDC with a Vista Home Premium 64-bit PC. A few examples: My wife's birthday, June 1st, appears correctly in her contact into in Outlook 2007, and shows correctly on the Outlook Calendar. On my TP2, in Contact Info there, her birthday shows as May 31st, and on the calendar as January 1st!! I just entered a series for a vacation in Outlook 2007 (May 21 - June 7th), and after ActiveSync with my TP2, it shows up on the phone's calendar as May 20 - June 6th. This makes the Calendar almost worthless.

Re: Birthday Sync Problem: Displays 1 day earlier on phone compared to PC
First time post, but wanted to say that I am having the same problem. Bought this phone to use as business AND personal so NEED to have Outlook 07 on Windows Vista sync properly with brand-new HTC TP2 contacts and their respective birthdays/anni's. Spent first night with this phone a week ago when I got it and thought it was something wrong with phone when all contacts showed the birthdays a day earlier than they should have been. Now I'm finally looking on the forums and at least I'm not the only one with this problem. Never thought of the DST time but seemed like all (or at least most) b-days/anniv were a day EARLIER on the TP2's contacts than on Outlook.
Just wanted to post that I am also having this same problem. For right now, I'm just changing the contacts birthday on the phone but I don't want to keep doing this when I have a business to run and NEED contacts birthdays to show up correctly. Just to say...spent 4 hrs first night syncing with Outlook 07 and then Google, deleting everything on Google and Outlook, both contacts and calendars (thank goodness "phone override computer" did it's thing or I'd have been REALLY screwed up) and then fixing everything on Outlook and restored back to phone. Didn't help. Still a day early on the contacts page. |

Re: Birthday Sync Problem: Displays 1 day earlier on phone compared to PC
Hmmm...so I seem to have my appointments and daily events back to normal after piecing together info from multiple web searches. I'll share what I did (as best as I can) in hopes that this might work for others. I saw different threads with the same problem, so I am posting this to multiple threads in hopes of helping as many as possible.
I downloaded and installed the daylight savings patch KB975353.CAB. https://www.microsoft.com/windowsmob...gs-update.mspx I then switched the time zone in the "clocks and alarms" settings to London time, which was GMT London (no time offset...as an example eastern timezone will show as GMT-5 Eastern US). There is probably a quicker way to get to clocks and alarms, but for me I accessed it through "phone" > "options" > "CDMA services"> "time synchronization" > "get settings". I turned OFF the option to have my phone sync the time with the network, and then on that same page I selected "clocks and alarms" to adjust the time zone. I soft reset and when the phone booted back up, I was still on London time. I then went back into clocks and alarms and switched back to my time zone (eastern). I then soft reset again. After all of this, all of my hourly appointments during the daylight savings period were showing the correct times. However, my daily appts were still a day earlier. Interestingly enough, recurring daily events like a birthday were correct, but events I had setup that were not recurring (such as memorial day, election day, etc) were still a day earlier. So on my phone I went into each of the daily events that was still incorrect and switched it to the correct date. Once this was complete, I synced to my PC and confirmed that everything was correct on both my PC and my phone. Since then I have added all day events and hourly appts during the DST period and they are entered and stay correct on both PC and phone. I read somewhere that someone had an issue where things seemed to work, but then the next day the appts were off again. At least for me, I crossed into the next day and everything is holding as needed. This was a real hassle, but I am hoping that the problem is over for me. Good luck...I hope this can help some of you. |

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))
For me (and some others based on what I've read), the DST patch alone was not enough. After a soft reset the problem was back. For whatever reason, it seems that switching the time zone on the phone and then switching back can help people when the patch alone did not work.
