Re: Is Sprint still giving out refur'ed MOGULs?
My friend's friend works at Sprint. I sent her an e-mail about how sick I am of my Moguls always breaking and she sent me this e-mail back.
"There is no way to get a touch pro 2 in replacement for your phone. We actually had company wide instructions to not give a touch pro 2 for any replacement. The company got pissed about the forums online explaining how to break your phone and get it replaced with the touch pro 2 so they cut those out of the replacement system all together. If they replace your phone you will get the snap." |

Re: Is Sprint still giving out refur'ed MOGULs?
its bs cause I am on my 15th mogal in 3 months they keep handing me defective devices out of the box. Do they even have a quality control???? the last 8 or 9 have had a partialy dead key board and the 2nd to last had a cracked screen out of the box. the reps just shrug and say they are all defective... end rant

In the Seattle area they still are handing out refubs that have problems already. I have gone thru 3 in less than 2 weeks.

Re: Is Sprint still giving out refur'ed MOGULs?
Whats bad is that with so many beating up the sytem (breaking own phone, always threatening to leave provider) that when someone really does need a replacement they have to jump through hoops and also causing insurance and phone prices to go even higher....
Newer isnt always better...I have had all the phones listed below over the last 2 years, and I bought me a new Verizon Mogul for $99 and love it....Im sure there are bad refurbs but some of these numbers of phones in months is a bit impossible...It makes it obvious that they just want an upgrade for free...

Re: Is Sprint still giving out refur'ed MOGULs?
well its not that people want a free upgrade but they do want a phone that works out of the box and does simple things like connect to the internet and have a functioning keyboard. I pay for the tep on all of my lines and only this phone has given me hell.. so when they hand me a defective referb from the repair center of course I am going to have them order another. So if sprint had some kind of quality controll on the referbs then I wouldnt go through 15-20 phones in a short period of time. I dont break them on purpose I simply try to send my wife a text and guess what no dice on the last dozen units they have handed me, I dont even leave the store before they order me a new one. Verizon probaly actually has some kind of quality control on their units cause they actually care about customer retention and their reputation. If you notice all the people having the tons of phones in a short time they are sprint customers for the most part.

I hadnt really noticed that until you mentioned it....The two devices also look different if you compare pictures, and the Verizon one looks more refined....Maybe they tweaked it a bit for Verizon....Not sure.... |

Re: Is Sprint still giving out refur'ed MOGULs?
I just got my 5th mogul a month ago and it is fine. I have only had to send 1 back due to a defect. the rest were my fault. I know it makes a diference how you order the replacement I got mine thru the insurance not the sprint store. My wife has had a lot of bad luck with other models replaced from the sprint store. And as for replaceing with a snap there is no way they couldget away with that because the 2 models are not comparable. The replacement contract states that they will replace it with a refurb of the same or next up comperable model.
