Go to PHM's web site and click on Download PHM Registry Editor : Pocket PC Edition then select "Pocket PC 2002,2003 (ARM/PXA)" and then click download. That is the .cab file that you copy over to your phone and run it from there.

The cab is inside of the attached zip file.

step 14: battery, screen rotate, and CommManager icons down in your tray...

Is a dead link. It's always better to copy and paste the actual steps when making a compilation list, rather than rely on information stored in other locations.

First time poster here. I must say this is a great forum with a wealth of very useful information. I'd like to remap the hardware buttons on the sides of the xv6800 such as the "ok" and "camera" buttons. I know you can reassign the buttons' functions by going to Settings -> Buttons. For example, "Button 5" has the additional option to assign a function to "Press and hold". How can I add this option to the other buttons? Is there a registry hack to achieve this? I'd rather find a way do this without installing AE Button Plus. Thanks for your help!

Soft Keys

Here is a little program i came across, cant remeber woh made it, but it will allow the registry changes needed to map the buttons. It worked on my Mogul 6800. It will allow any selection. Sync to my documnets folder, tap on the file in file explorer, change to what ever, soft reset. I have S2U2 and Active sync mapped on mine.....

I use SPB phone suite for this. It allows you to have that option for calls and messages. I have mine set to 5 min. I ride a motorcycle a lot of the time and that program always reminds me if I missed a call even if a voicemail has not been left.

18-Change ringtone/vibrate/LED flash characteristics

If you would like more control over how your device rings/vibrates/flashes its LEDs on events, you can can change the Script values of these events. For example, for an incoming call performing 'activate device, play ringtone, wait 3 seconds, repeat':

HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script = "apw3r" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)

For performing 'active device, set volume to 33%, play ringtone, set volume to 67%, play ringtone, set volume to 100%, play ringtone (no repeat)':

HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script = "ac33pc67pc100p" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)

The following are the full codes available to you. Please note that all the codes are executed simultaneously except after a ringtone play / wait code. E.g. 'v1p' will vibrate and play at the same time, while vibrating for 1 second. But 'pv1' will play the ringtone through all the way first, then start vibrating for 1 second.

a = activate device
cN = set volume to N in percentage max volume
fN = flash notification LED for N seconds
p = play ringtone. Note that this will play the ringtone all the way through before continuing with the next code.
r = repeat. Note that this should be the last code in your Script string, if used at all.
vN = vibrate for N seconds
wN = wait for N seconds. Note that the device will wait this long before continuing with the next code.

NOTE: I tried this on my 6800 and changed the v0 to v1 and now it doesn't have just one long vibrate. v0 sets it to vibrate always.

================================================== ======

THis is an excellent feature. Does anyone know how to set this for text messages so when a new message comes in, it does not activate the phone but still plays the ringer. I really hate that it turns on the screen everytime i get a message. I get approx 50 a day and when I am at work that will kill the battery quickly if I don't manually turn off the screen.

When receiving emails, this already happens I do not see a folder for text messages.

If there is a better option on keeping the display off when text messages are received, please let me know.
