Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

I complained to retentions for the first time about my mogul recently. I've had it since June. Several key buttons don't work (ie messaging button, green phone button), radio will randomly turn off, phone itself will randomly reboot, at times totally unresponsive and needs soft reset. His solution... sprint has a buyback program. um WHAT?? seriously? that's your solution? Giving me a $25 credit for a $600 phone?? That should work properly no matter the cost!

Sorry no dice. It's a problem they need to solve. They can blame whomever, but ultimately they are the ones that select, test, review, ship, supply, market, sell, the phone.
sheesh... I'm not asking for a miracle, just a different phone model without the problems for those that ask for it.
Besides, your math is a bit off... 5 out of 6 is not 50%, but perhaps you were just using the number that one person said earlier.
No I did not just throw that figure out there..From what i have seen in these forums here and others half say they have functionality issues and half say they don't thats where my figure comes from Sir. Again what you describe is in fact a manufaturing issuing, baring these issues appearing within the initial 30 days of purchase which sprint does give you the option to bring the device back. After that the manufacture has a 1 year warranty on the device. So how is Sprint at fault here? Why should they give you a upgrade when you are given their policy on this issue up front. You arguement again is not with Sprint.

You think there is this massive problem. I don't. Isn't democracy wonderful?

If I were you, and clearly I am not, I'd vote with my $. I sure wouldn't give Sprint or HTC another dime.

What are you going to do, get an overheating Diamond? A creaky Pro?

They all have issues. Your odds of getting a recall are about the same as the odds of anyone else getting a recall on a cell phone that is already End of Life. About zip.

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

I, too, have had problems with the three Moguls I have had since January. The first had the camera problem (the yellow line), the second kept freezing when I pressed certain keys, and the third had a blank white screen with only the top and bottom bars showing, but was stuck in locked position. I had to hard reset to get it to stop. But, in one trip to a sprint store with no luck, and three emails to customer care, I have my Touch Pro on the way, paying only the $30 difference between the Mogul and Pro. I love the Mogul, really; it's a great phone and I love the buttons on the side BUT my phone is my lifeline so I need something more reliable. :-/

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

So is it only the Sprint version of this phone with these problems? I skimmed over all the posts and didn't see anyone with Verizon version saying they got this problem. That's nice for me...

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

Honestly most of the problems I have had with my phone were self inflicted...or me trying to do something the phone wasn't supposed to do. The white spot doesn't even bother me. I only see it when I have a blank white screen which is rare. I dont use BT that much anymore since my headset died, but it worked just fine for me when it did. GPS. lol I even paid the 50 bucks for the receiver for my 6700. I can't complain now that its built in. one less thing I have to charge. Doesn't make a difference to me if it takes an extra 5 seconds to lock on. None of these things really affect my service on the device. Its still a phone and it still makes phone calls. Heck I cant even complain about pic mail anymore...lol

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

Yeah I'd like to know if its just Sprint as well.
I doubt it though. But if thats the case it would definitely account for mixed reviews. Otherwise I'm inclined to believe there are some people that have some sort of stock in Sprint, or havent had their phone very long, or just somehow extremely lucky to not yet see the problems the rest of us are finding. lol

People can split hairs with everything I say here, but the facts I stated can stand on their own merit. Just read it again...lol

I'm not doing a legal dispute here. I'm sure there would long ago been a class action lawsuit if it werent for the legalese written into the contract which makes the phone company BULLETPROOF.

A question of ethics makes those that are ethical wonder if it is ok to lull customers into complacency via the 30 day warranty and the insurance and the joke "buy back program". But hey, when your phone has a problem we are just gonna say "talk to the manufacturer...they might send you another one"...lol
But first they will send you through a spiral of hell through all the internals of Sprint, before making that final suggestion....which restarts the circle.

Otherwise, some people have gotten free upgrades through Sprint after multiple swaps. That's all I'm suggesting.

honestly i think your just picking the winning side of a dying argument. the mogul will not be recalled, but instead will be replaced in the line-up by the touchpro. This means that when you have issues, you'll still get a mogul for at least a while for your exchange (unless you get lucky), but stores/telesales/etc will only sell the diamond and touchpro. Now i know that several people do have issues with the device due to their expectations and this device not meeting them, especially the low ram !!! that being said though, bluetooth and GPS seems to be hit and miss, as some users have n0 issues... like myself

at the end of the day, would you rather the mogul or touchpro? (yeah i know your answer )

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

I have had the white spots for some time now and it doesnt make the phone act any different. I dont need to complain and wine that there are white spots on the screen, it is what it is learn to deal with it. Come on really have the the white spots really slowed down your phone production are made it not answer a call. I just see people are sick of the mogul and want to trade it in on a new phone for nothing.
