Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

To those who asked how many insurance claims are allowed per year, according to the Sprint website insurance information, there is a limit of three replacements under the Equipment Replacement Program (insurance coverage) per year, with a $50 deductible charged per replacement.
Quote:
Incidents covered:
> Loss, theft or physical damage.
> Water (or liquid) damage and resulting corrosion.
> Fire or lightning damage.
Limits:
> Replacement value not to exceed $1,000 per occurrence.
> Maximum of three replacement requests will be allowed within a consecutive 12-month period.
There is no limit stated for number of replacements under the Equipment Service and Repair Program (extended warranty coverage) and no charge for replacements under that program. The TEP includes both programs for $7 per month. Since the Equipment Service and Repair Program "includes coverage for mechanical or electrical failure, routine maintenance, or failure from normal wear and tear", it would probably cover phones that are truly bricked, since they would appear as electrical failure.

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

Do you think people abuse this insurance thing?

Here I am taking so much care of my Mogul.

My co-worker complaint to the CSR and they exhange her old Treo for another Mogul.

Dont complain too much though. Sprint has been known to drop "problem" customers.

That is why I pay the extra $7 a month, no extra phone needed. So far it has worked without fail.

well your not paying the 7 dollars to sprint your paying it to the insurance that is called asurion, the only thing that you pay to sprint is the bill.

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

You should keep your insurance. Look on the Sprint web page for a Sprint Equipment repair store, not a retail. The repair store will fix or replace your phone. I been with Sprint for 10 years and still going......

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

Go to a Sprint service/repair center. I've been in there numerous times, twice for a battery cover and four times for a lost stylus. They shouldn't give you any trouble!

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

lol, I've got 2 moguls, 2 lines, all myself, primary line has insurance 2nd doesn't... kinda backwards as my 2nd usually sits on my dash all day (navizon) but my main phone has taken one hell of a beating. fallen many times from above it's rated height (probably 8" rated) also in my 8 years with sprint i've only needed to fix/replace my phone 3 times, got insurance after the first. it was really bad timing as it was when sprint only had 2-3 bluetooth phones (LG ) and I knew they had a bunch of new ones comming out in a month or so, but was forced to renew contract with a phone I didn't really want. then I Added a line for my 6700 (also a beast) finally broke my usb,, the replacement's joystick lasted 3 weeks, they replaced instore for a new mogul. never paid the deduct.
