When you logon to your computer and it asks you for your password, the box below password whatever it says in there. Try that for domain name.

Not a problem. In activesync on your ppc, you edit the menu|options and you would uncheck the "contacts" to sync with exchange, and leave the "contacts" checked for your PC settings.

Thanks for that, but no go.

As one person suggested, I might want to talk to someone with a work-issued blackberry that syncs, and try and copy those settings. Unfortunately, those people are higher pay grade employees -- I'll have to be careful in talking to them - don't want to get in trouble.

If it all fails, then you have these options:

if you have access to Outlook Web Access, then just use www.emoze.com or www.mobipush.com (someone suggested this already in a previous post).

how secure and safe is it to be giving someone or website of your company's email access password? my company uses blackberries, and BES. But no problem for me to log into OWA. But through each browser, (IE and Firefox) I was not able to see the lock at all for the certificate. But then again, I am probably out of luck since all my work use is Blackberries, like others have said, am I correct on that? I had even spoken with a email team member at my work, he told me it would not be possible either.....

click - details tab
click - copy to file
click - next
click - DER encoded radio button
click - Browse

save it to a location on your computer like desktop
then Transfer .CER file to phone

(on mogul)
Use file explorer
Click on Certificate
it will ask you to install it, say yes

soft reset phone.
then try to sync with activesync.

should work, if not check and see of the domain, username, password is right in the server source.

by the way,
activesync service should be enabled by default on the exchange server.

Good luck,
Nathan
My IT guy told me the samething. He said some switch up at the cooprerat office in Western New York needed to be flipped. no mind you we have a MS 2003 server here at this location and all the other locations, he said it was not compatible with WM6. My company uses GOOD for some reason. Everyone that has a company phone has WM5 too. So I dont know if that has anything to do with it. I tried you steps above and I cant reach my company's email through IE.

Re: IT guy at work is incompetent; can I get exchange to work by myself?

I got a couple of more questions

1.Your Domain name should be what the same as too when you log onto you work computer, right?
2. Username should be your computer login name , right?

I get the following error:
Microsoft Exchange does not accept you login credentials.Click retry or configure PPC without. etc....."

Well, Mobipush continues to send back an error, but Emoze works! Actually, after the install to the xv6800, Emoze sent back an error saying "Check your URL" . I did (it was correct), I clicked OK, and presto, Emoze downloaded my contacts, emails, and Calendar. Only thing is I don't know why it works and everything else doesn't, but I really don't care. Emoze meets my needs.

Thanks!

Re: IT guy at work is incompetent; can I get exchange to work by myself?

I ran into this problem for a Sprint customer the other day...

I got a Cert from here. http://www.geotrust.com/resources/ro...ates/index.asp

I used #5 on the page, and it worked awesome.

The site says they're free to use...

But I need to duplicate the problem to find the problem... oh... Why should I be able to fix a phone I can't tell is broken? (Conversation with a Sprint customer)

I tried emoze briefly, but it doesn't appear that it's pushing emails in in real time. Anyone else having this problem possibly?
