Re: Garmin GPS.......

Blah, this took me like a day to find all the info to install this program, just to figure out it is not much better than tom tom for ppc. Actually it seems much slower in drawing maps and route calculations.

btw if anyone still needs help getting this to work PM me, as i know how aggravating it is.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

Ok, just updated to 4.20.40w. Opened the program (indoors) and showing no bars for satellite signal noting the current time (8:45p). Wait maybe a minute to a minute and half for the voice to speak saying "lost satellite reception". Click start>Today to view my today screen w/o exiting GarminXT. And it did change my time back to 8:00. A big fat frown (((. Oh well. I don't really care, not a big deal to me.

For anyone that says it is working correct, go indoors with no satellites available. Start up GarminXT, wait till the voice prompts no reception then check the time, then report back here. Like to hear the results. Thanks & good luck

I would say that once it says switching to night mode. It has changed your clock.
Mine didn't do the switch to night 1st, It took a little over a minute, said no satellite reception, then some time after that it switched, either way it apparently isn't fix...

Ya I did this and still have no clock issues. I wonder what I'm doing different? So if enough people are having problems with the 4.20.40 update let me know and I'll pull the links out of the first post.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

Wow Im the lucky dog i guess I cant make it change my clock on purpose.
Well I removed the 4.20.40 links in post 1 so no more confusion. I guess people should stay with 4.20.20 for now.

Ya honestly it makes no sense. I think a lot has to do with your PPC. Most of the problems I have heard about 4.20.40 have been on the touch.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

can anybody point me in the direction of some marine maps that would work on this? Do I need to reinstall all my maps at the same time, or can I add the marine map separately?
