Re: Garmin GPS.......

Ok my first Bit@h about Garmin.
It will only let you have one map installed at one time.
EX: I had the 200* map loaded and tryed to load the Lakes with fishing hot spots and it wiped out my 200* map and replaced it with the lakes/fishing hot spots. That sucks because the lake map has little more road detail in it than the base map.

Garmin does let you install more than one mapset at a time. You just have to choose them all at once. I have City Navigator, and Parks West. I just select the areas I want from MapSource for each mapset, then upload to phone. You can select which map is the active map from Tools, Manage My Data, Map Sets, Map Source (button in bottom right corner), and checking/unchecking the mapset.

It looks like it will display only one mapset at a time though.

Hopefully that made sense.

Thanks

Right on it makes sense enough for me to try again.
*EDIT*
Nice thanks for the heads up on that. Ya rather than installing them both at the same time with the map installer I was installing one over the other.
P.S Welcome Here......... (Your first post)

I might be mistaken but i think Im running them both at the same time. In my "Where to?" - "Food,Hotels" I now have all the same icons from the City Navigator but now I have new ones with "Water Features"&"Land Features". Where they there before and I just didnt notice them?

yeah it is showing both the base map and the detailed map at the same time so who knows
this thing is so jacked up (a perverted mutated form of its original self) that i would not be shocked by anything.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

Na not the base map I mean its showing City Navigator and US Recreational Lakes in my where to. I can find a Hotel to sleep in and a pond to fish in at the same time no need to swap between maps. I do have them both checked. Im going to have to load this again into my other mogul just with City Navigator and see if there is a difference and if Im running two maps at once.
*Edit* Ya Im running the two at the same time. I have more options (Where to?-Food,Hotels- under Hospital- Manmade Places- Water Features-Land Features) than just with City Navigator and for ex: if I disable City Navigator and with Rec Lakes alone try to get directs to a pond it errors and says no start rd. So I check City Nav again and it will give me the directions.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

Hmmm ... I'll have to try having multiple maps selected. It always just seemed like it wouldn't show more than one mapset. I have Topo 2008 and City Navigator loaded. Going on a hike sunday so going to see if I can have both selected and still get the street maps as well as the Topo maps for hiking.

Thanks
