i came to this thread today specifically for this reason... messages im sending from my phone (going out through my gmail) to pktpix are not being delivered.. just as others are reporting.

if its true that they are blocking this... wow.... crazy.

maybe it's Gmail... has someone tried using another e-mail account with pktpix? i use Gmail as well and don't really feel like creating a new email account somewhere just for this....

I tried this with msft exchange a couple days ago and it didn't work. I don't think it limited to GMail. I dunno if its Sprint or others though.

Re: nueMMS - beta test sprint workaround

How does pktpix know which numbers belong to which carriers? Is there some sort of database or formula? I can't see how it could be a formula since people can port their number from one carrier to another. I wonder if there is a way to tap into a database so that nueMMS can send emails directly to carriers rather than redirect through pktpix. This way you could send picture messages/emails without knowing everyone's carrier. Just a thought.
Also, part F of the FAQ: it sounds more like email FROM the CARRIER is getting messed up. Since most PM's are done through a normal phone, they use their carriers email system to send PM's. Thus when directed to pktpix if they are from helio or Metro PCS, the data is funny and cannot be redirected to the appropriate number. However, nueMMS sends out email via regular email systems. I don't know if that is true, that is just my initial interpretation.

that's what i thought too, but seems weird that the pktpix thing just isn't working anymore. i don't send picmail too much, so this situation is just a small annoyance. hopefully something gets sorted soon.

no because we are still able to send directly to the phones. I would imagine they are just having some issues. I say something about them adding video, maybe it crashed their servers or something.

Re: nueMMS - beta test sprint workaround

Can somebody check if this is an issue limited to pktpix --> Sprint or is it pktpix --> anybody?
That would be awesome. Unfortunately, everyone I don't feel bad about sending a text/PM to is on Sprint.
Thanks.

Re: nueMMS - beta test sprint workaround

I emailed pktpix and have heard nothing back. Virtually everyone I know is on Sprint so no one really to try it with.
