For the most part, nueMMS is a pretty simple solution. Sends out emails with attachments.
Some of the more recent posts have been efforts for individual email accounts to mimic true MMS.
I agree that having direct access to Sprint's MMS servers would be ideal, but since that isn't happening as of now, we might as well work on what we have. Heck, I barely even use MMS, this thread just caught my attention and I decided to test some things out. Maybe there is a way so that once everything is set up, nueMMS will, to the user, behave exactly like the arcsoft program.

Yes it is. You are using the sprint vision network to send any type of data from your phone...unless you are using WiFi.

Phone --> Sprint IntrAnet --> Internet --> Mail Server --> to ATT/Verizon/Sprint ect. PM server --> Wireless Carriers IntrAnet --> Recipient Phone

Re: nueMMS - beta test sprint workaround

For those of you with issues with pktpix... I've been trying all night long... sending from my computer to both my sprint phone and my cricket phone.. Using Gmail, yahoo, and hotmail.. and have not received a single link.

glad to know I'm not the only one with problems. I started sending myself messages when I was on page 10, and by the time I started seeing everyone else's problems I was pretty pissed off.

Re: nueMMS - beta test sprint workaround

The one addition I missed with Arcsoft MMS is the ability to send vCards and vCalendar entries. Anyway to get this feature added?

Have you tried it with via WiFi? And I don't think Sprint could search internet email systems. While you are right that Sprint could definitely look at the data you are sending your respective emails system be it Exchange POP3 or IMAP, the reply-to information isn't stored there. It is stored on the email server's client information. Thus if I sent an email via GMail on my phone, it should send the same SMTP data to google whether or not my GMail's reply-to field has Sprint in it or not.
Also, if Sprint was blocking the mail, it would never show up on the email system itself. But when checking my sent mail folder, the email is definitely there.
I still think its the email headers that are what's causing the problem. If you send an email via phone the header is distinctly different than an email via PC/Internet. Thus recipient email systems (picture and text) don't want to receive them if they have a different reply-to IP than the host IP. However, if they use a more standard header, they may still retain that ability.
While Sprint does have Tier 3 internet relays, not all internet traffic goes through them, and I don't think they would be allowed to do that anyways.
I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, I respect the work and help you've been putting into this. This is just my opinion, so feel free to prove me wrong.

You have valid points...and I think both you and I have beat this thing to the ground. I am happy with my current solution...for now. No need to keep going back and forth. I just don't understand why sprint wont allow us to do it. That just floors me.

Re: nueMMS - beta test sprint workaround

this is a probably a dumb question.

how does sprint have our mms messages sorted out from those of regular handsets? is it based on the phones identification? when the MMS messages come from an esn from a mogul/touch is it filtered out or is it based on the format the message is sent in?

I ask because of the new esn method for the mogul. if it is done that way we could clone to a basic handset esn, install arcsoft and wed be good to go? maybe even receive inbound mail in a decent fashion with the porting of alltels mms software.
