Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread

Does either Iguidance or Tomtom 6 have a walking mode? Or rather, allow you to use your GPS as you would a hand one. If not, does anyone know which program does have such a mode?

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread

After numerous attemps, I've finally been able to access the internal GPS of my Titan. Now I'm searching for a software like "copilot live 11" to use my laptop with my phone as a GPS. Anyone have a hint?

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread

If you have a long time getting locks, follow this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36377

It is designed to work for Alltel but the Alltel servers seem to work on Verizon and possibly other networks.

I came across the laptop program "googlemap + GPS tracker 13" but I can't get it to work with the Titan GPS... anyone have a solution?

I think that what you are trying to do is use your phone as a gps device? If so, a program called franson GPS will allow you to do what you are trying to do. It works really well and I had zero problems getting it to work.

C_C unfortunately it's not exactly that but thanks anyway, grosso-modo what I'm looking for is an App like copilot live laptop, garmin mobile pc or nRoute... but one that is free.

You have to hold the phone in the Window to get the initial lock. Remember that you're essentially in a large metal tube which blocks a lot of the radio signal. Once you get the lock you can move the phone a little closer to you so you don't look like a total geek. But you can't do it obviously from the Aisle or middle seat.

Has there been any new discussion on the ability to use the GPS while overseas (on a Sprint CDMA model)? I've got a trip to Germany in October and was going to try it again (with the latest radio), but was wondering if anyone had a recent attempt. I'm using it with TomTom and EU maps. I'll also load up a low level GPS monitor just to see what's coming back from the unit. Any recommendations on something that will give the most (useful) info on sats beeing seeked, found, strength, etc?

I still don't think it will lock. The GSM Tilt locks great overseas
