You have to hold the phone in the Window to get the initial lock. Remember that you're essentially in a large metal tube which blocks a lot of the radio signal. Once you get the lock you can move the phone a little closer to you so you don't look like a total geek. But you can't do it obviously from the Aisle or middle seat.
Has there been any new discussion on the ability to use the GPS while overseas (on a Sprint CDMA model)? I've got a trip to Germany in October and was going to try it again (with the latest radio), but was wondering if anyone had a recent attempt. I'm using it with TomTom and EU maps. I'll also load up a low level GPS monitor just to see what's coming back from the unit. Any recommendations on something that will give the most (useful) info on sats beeing seeked, found, strength, etc?
