Wouldn't have bothered taking it in for one since I knew it was obviously a screen defect, but 3 spots wasn't working for me.
That seems to make a -lot- of sense, but only if the magnet is located in the screen part of the phone.

Oh, I got the spot too.

Re: White Spots

i worked as a repair tech for years guys.. i have physically done circuit board layout and re work.. i have also worked on lcd's very often on the machines i used to repair at ibm.. this is not caused from a magnet as a magnet does not have any effect on the lcd panel itself. while it could on the invertor that powers the lcd it will not effect the panel in this way. a older reg tube tv yes this would cause a gausing effect in which case the set would have to be de-gaussed ...

there are 2 common reasons for this on a lcd panel which are heat and pressure.

normally heat would cause a darkening effect on the screen in other words a darker circle appearing almost like a shade of grey or black on the white backround

a lighter or brighter spot is usually from pressure. something pushing on the back of the lcd screen or a "bow" in the lcd screen like one side being tightend down more than the other side causing a slight bend in the panel itself.

if i can get my hands on one with this issue id love to take on apart and see what i can figure out. i have one here but it does not have this issue as of yet but i have almost not really even used it yet as ive been comparing it to the touch to decide which id rather have.

i highly doubt this is burn in. i have seen lcd's that displayed the same image for time periods longer than almost 12 hours at a time constantly with only a short break after that time.. due to changes in shift of the operators.. unless you have a icon in that area that NEVER turns off i highly doubt it is burn in..

Re: White Spots

I have the same problem as you guys...2 white spots on the bottom left hand corner. At firstI thought it developed from being in my pocket or my bag. But since everyone else has the same problem..Then maybe it is the phone. So my next question is: Will Sprint take the phone back and either fix it or replace it since its still under warranty? If so, should we bring it into a Sprint Tech center ourselves where we can wait till it done? I'm a worried about the spots because they came out of no where and I just want to make sure that they don't get worst.........

Any Feedback would be great guys.

Re: White Spots

I was told by a Sprint Repair Agent that it was just normal wear and tear. He also went to show me another phone that had these white spots. I notice mine after a a couple of weeks> I keep mine in my pocket with nothing else in it, so I don't see how pressure or smashing it would make them appear. Specially since there aren't that many one my screen and everyone is getting them in the same area

Re: White Spots

Lets hope for a recall and a credit for a free phone that we can use on the next WM-Qwerty Phone. thats what I want. Its not our fault that we paid so much for this piece of crap. and I mean crap in a good way but full of problems. Sprint or HTC really needs to make this up to us,

Anyone know if the verizon titan has the same problem?

Re: White Spots

Well Sprint are *** holes. Called to get my phone replaced for the white spots. I have had my phone since november so its out of sprints 30 day warranty. And well sprint said that I should contact HTC and they said because it is a Sprint branded phone they wont touch it. So back to sprint and they said I have to take it to the store. Well I have a Sprint store close to me and they told me I have to go to a corporate store. Closest corporate store to me is a hour and a half away. This really pisses me off! I should not have to travel 90miles to get a replacement for a phone that I did not damage and is a manufacturing error. With the price of gas up to 3.30 a gallon and I only get 18mpg it will end up costing me prolly $40 to get my phone replaced.

Anyone think theres a chance I will get some sort of compensation for this BS?
