In addition to the radio issues that were resolved by downgrading the radio to 1.40, I have now noticed that if you receive a text message while the phone is charging (with screen off : Sleeping) the phone will go into an endless loop of vibrate until you press the power button to wake it up. I dont know if this occurs as well if the phone is in sleep mode and not charging but it could be possible. Further testing to come.

I think instead of finding the littlest nit-pick on the new rom, lets talk about the big issues like bluetooth, speed, reception, battery, memory, etc.

I am sure we can all find something little. "when i go to put a smiley face on my text message it puts an unhappy face when I want a happy face, this new rom sucks" or "when i go to hang up the phone it doesn't immediately close the keypad, its take 1.52949 seconds"

Why does the phone have to crash?

I installed the ROM last night after seeing that it was available. Everything seemed fine and the device seems to work faster....maybe because my caches were starting fresh and not filled up...I dunno.

The main thing that I noticed was that my phone has already shut down once. For some reason it turns off and I either have to press the reset button or pull out the battery to restart it. Wonder what would cause this? It has only happened once so far and gladly the phone has rung a couple of times so I know I can receive calls.

My biggest issue with the phone through all of these ROMS has been that the phone would lock up and when you pressed the power button the phone would ring and then all of the alerts would pop up showing that someone had called earlier. It is like it would get stuck. I haven't seen that but it did turn off once.

I don't understand fully how the radio functions and what the different symbols mean. I have seen Ev, 1X, IOTA, etc. When I try to visit a web site the message comes up that I am calling #777.

If I did have EVDO rev.A what would that symbol look like? I am not even sure if I am getting what I should get. The IOTA appeared when the phone was connected to the computer when I was synching it. Can I still do the phone and the data connections when it says IOTA?

I wish I had a guide for the radio (or whatever the thing is that says Ev, etc.)

Anyway, this one is better than the last. Waiting on 1Q 2008 for my GPS and EVDO rev.A that they promised us.

My request for you developers out there is to get rid of that flashing light saying that the Sprint mother ship is online.

Thanks for the new ROM HTC!

Well I'm still having an issue with bluetooth on my jawbone headset. I updated last night, soft reset this morning. Made a call about two hours later, and a few mintues after the call the headset lost its connection to the phone just like before. Turning off and on the bluetooth setting from the Comm Manager re-activated it again. I'll see how often I lose the connection but it's still a problem for me.

I LOVE this rom! I am having ZERO issues whatsoever! It's fast...SLIGHT memory leak but I associate that with file caching. This rom feels like a custom rom and not a OEM. VERY satisfied with the update!

edit:

One issue I found. Phone wouldn't wake up after I had it charging over night. No biggie since I soft reset every morning anyways.

My first DSOD

Had my first DSOD with new ROM today.

Had been running about 14 hours, no calls, no BT usage, Resco Explorer the only 3rd party app installed.

Oh well ...

On a positive note - battery consumption much better. Was at 90% at noon before it locked up. Usually 70-80% by noon.

Also much zippier and responsive compared to 2.09.

Haven't tried BT yet.
