This will shed some light if the 1.47.01 radio is at fault. It has been the issue with a few people including myself.
This always been an issue for any rom and radio version for me. Requires you to take the battery off to get it back.

I just flashed to the new ROM and it works fine though going back and forth. Only thing I'm taking a dump on is the speed of the EVDO. Only getting less than 200 kilobit now. With the Alltel ROMs I get much higher speeds. I'll see what happens tonight after midnight though before I go back.

Yeah you are right, usually with the past roms I have been unable switch back and forth manually more than a few times, it would have no service and require a soft reset.

With new rom, just tried switching to roaming only, and I have no service.
I have a repeater in my house, so I'm going to switch that off and see if it makes a difference...

not the repeater, still has a problem, in fact I think its worse now, with switching to roaming only, it locks up the first time I change it.

ya. thats what im talking about. its weird. for me its been really slow to respond to taps and buttons pushes. and after awhile it requires a battery removal to reboot. soft reset doesn't work.

this didn't happen to me with the 2.09 rom and 1.40 radio. so im thinking its the 1.47.01 radio.

Funny you ask, i emailed ecare yesterday bitching about how I live in a dead zone and here's an excerpt of what the (overally very good) rep said i should try until airave comes out....
Something that you might want to try, at least while at that address is to change your phone to Roam Only, to see if maybe you can get a stronger signal that way. You can set this up on your device by following this menu path:

Menu> Settings> Roaming> Set Mode> you have these choices there: Sprint, Automatic, Roam Only.

I see that you do have the SERO plan on your account and this plan includes roaming at no extra charge. I have used this feature a few times while in areas where I had no Sprint specific coverage, and found that it worked great.

This will shed some light if the 1.47.01 radio is at fault. It has been the issue with a few people including myself.
Phone freezes going into roaming, no flashing light or anything, soft reset works with the bottom button. When the phone comes back up though it works in roaming only (just so long as I don't lose the signal) and I can switch back to sprint, but still not the other way. Phone has frozen up 10+ times in the past 24 hours, and rebooted itself probable 8 times in the same time period.

FYI
I e-mailed these issues to htc, they blame sprint, saying that they built the rom to the carriers exact specifications.

Now I have to go see if I can fix my phone before I go into work as I work in a large building and don't want to deal with my phone freezing and rebooting all night long again.

No lock ups or slowdowns going into roa only, but it did fail to get any signal until i went into the comm manager and disabled/enabled the radio...same when i switched back when it had no service. After the disable/enable to roam only it switched back to sprint no problem.
