i think im going to try the OS only update that is posted on the first page of this thread. I have 2.09 with 1.32.00 Radio right now. Will the 1.32 Radio cause any problems with the OS only update? or do i need to find the 1.40 Radio??

I have never had any problems with the 1.32 radio, thats the only reason im considering keeping it

You know, it's interesting that everyone seems to have different issues all with the same phone. Almost like no two models are exactly the same. Even where I am, my friend's phone has no BT issues while I've had two disconnects in two days since the update but we are using the exact same apps and headset. Do you guys think it's worth it to swap my mogul for another mogul and try again? Anyone do this before?

For those that are so far happy with the upgrade, try going into settings, phone, services, Roaming, Get Settings, choose roaming only. and report back on:

1. Does the phone go into roaming? ie triangle appears
2. If roaming is achieved, make and end calls possible?
3. Is there any super slow system response?
4. Is it possible to go back and forth between sprint only and roaming settings without the system hanging or unable to soft reset?

This will shed some light if the 1.47.01 radio is at fault. It has been the issue with a few people including myself.

Just out of curiosity, why would one want to restrict their phone to "Roaming Only"? In what scenario would this setting provide a benefit?

Will try out he roaming later tonight and report back.

It is useful to have roaming only in areas with fringe sprint coverage but good roam...it will jump back to WEAK sprint coverage and wreck batt life/service...roam only will prevent that.

Phone locked up after attempting to connect for a few seconds. Just guessing, but I'd bet it locked up once it established communication with the roam tower.

Thumbs up

Installed new ROM as soon as it came out...

-Installed Pocket Invoice
-Installed Sprint TV
-Changed Registry settings to improve battery life
-Got rid of rilphone.dll in registry

I have NOT used bluetooth yet, because my cars bluetooth blows.

ZERO issues, no lockups, no soft-resets, nothing. Very Impressed.

Good job HTC, now give us GPS and Rev A for christmas

Oh, and also I frequent a place that has 0 sprint coverage and 100 vzw coverage, and it swtiched back and forth just fine

Last edited by cbunting; 11-30-2007 at 08:04 PM. Reason: forgot to mention roaming

Seems to affect a few people. great for those that don't have the roaming hang ups.
need to see how many others are affected as well. percentage wise.

The reason its a good idea to try the steps above is when you do travel around the city, int and out of cities, the phone will try sprint networks and if it can't find one it'll go to a partner roaming cell site. so not all of you may experience the phone and OS hanging or very slow until that happens to you. so try forcing it to roam and see if you have that issue and report back here. thanks!!
