I would NOT advise flashing with anything below 20% battery, you have a window where you are on batt power during part of this and you ought to have some.

However you can "force" the rom to go ahead and flash by "fooling" the updater.

1. Put you're phone into bootloader. Do this by pressing and holding power button, camera button, at the same time you punch the reset buttong. If you're successfull youll see the pretty boot screen....
2. Start the flash utility.

If you do this, the OS is not up to tell the flash software what % batt power you have, so the flasher will go ahead and proceed.

Happy flashing.

A few things: Does this ROM update give you EVDO Rev A? Will my PDAnet tethering still work? - I read somewhere that tethering (i.e. through PDANet) might now work - is this true with updated ROM's?

Hey, I'm still with the original ROM - and it seems to work for me - although I would like some of the upgrades I do not know if it is truly worth it????

24.05 mb free without any customization. I have not seen the keyboard issue yet. I will post if I see anything after all my apps are reloaded

No to RevA 1st qtr of 08 for that.

You don't need PDANet to tether. There is a reg hack that makes it possible. Look at this thread, particularly #35. Luv2Chill's

No more BT issues?

I have tried all WM6 ROMs and this is on the only ROM that doesn't lock up the phone when my WEP200 headset is on. I had it on and off all day and with this ROM 2.17 it was clean and never gave out.

I also experienced greater speeds like everyone else mentioned.

Great ROM!

Here's My summary. Installed ROM 24hrs ago and since then its been great. no hiccups. a tad bit speedier.

Just for the past hour, I tried some tests. If you go to settings, phone, services, roaming, and set to ROAM only. the phone hangs .

You might not have experienced this because you are in a Sprint covered area. This affects people that travel, commute through spotty sprint service areas where the phone will try to jump on to a sprint roaming partner cell site. It'll eventually affect everyone as they venture off anywhere.

*****A plea to all those that say they have NO problems. try this and report back.

I can't believe they put out another ROM without thoroughly testing it out. esp when the issue was known in the 2.16 ROM.

The reason why HTC issued a response to come out with 2.17 is because enough people complained. The same needs to be done unfortunately yet again. I'm calling HTC tomorrow. I would advise others to follow suit so we can get another bug fix in the radio portion of the ROM update.

Just tried this and it works fine (although as some others have reported it does not show the roaming triangle)... Did you install the full rom package (with 1.47.1 radio not 1.47)???

I have been running all day just fine including going to school in some buildings where my phone has a tendency to switch back and forth between verizon and sprint - no lock ups... This was a big problem on 2.16/1.47...

Just tried it and no hang. Maybe you had some other program causing it, perhaps a data connection going that freaked when you killed it by switching to roam only? Or was that the original problem?
