Ill deal with no keyboard on the Touch so far reports are it doesnt have any of the bugs the mogul does, at least working bluetooth, and double the RAM in a much smaller package.
If Sprint doesnt keep you as a customer, who really looses in the end? I felt the same way you did, but I didnt go the "keep me as a customer" route. I paid just under $600 for the Mogul and I expected it to perform like the $600 device it is.

Hardware alone, I think the Mogul is crappy. Other opinions may vary. I am sitting here looking at my 4 month old Mogul that has never been dropped, but feels like I have owned it all of 5 years. The construction should be better than this. I've seen Legos stand up longer than my Mogul.

Needing WiFi and having it work go hand in hand. WiFi on my Mogul stopped working. All my other devices that connect thru WiFi work flawlessly.

It was setup correctly. So there is no justification to me why I should have to check, double check, and triple check my router setup over and over again because WiFi refuses to function.

Sprint loses in the end. They lose a customer, the lose money, etc

It's all about word of mouth. The mogul can be resold on ebay for close to what you paid for it. So it's a win on our side and a lose on Sprints side.

Maybe it's me, but I wouldnt sell this piece of junk to anyone. I'm not going to take someone's money like that.

Well I, for one, am really looking forward to the update. It seems to me that sprint and htc finally got the message and the severity of the backlash against them for releasing an unfinished product. I could definitely use Rev. A and AGPS on it so I'll just sit tight and wait if they actually deliver. I don't blame those who have exchanged their moguls because this has really been a crazy experience.

The exact quote is the following:
"Sprint and HTC regret any inconvenience customers have recently experienced with the Mogul. HTC is working on a new version of the software ROM for the Mogul which incorporates enhancements for Bluetooth performance and corrects issues that were unintentionally created by ROM version 2.16.651.0 (posted on HTC’s website on October 24). Both Sprint and HTC have begun testing the new software and are targeting to make it available for download by the end of November. Once fully tested the download will be made available on this webpage. Please bookmark this page for easy reference.

As a short-term solution, customers who downloaded the ROM version 2.16 should download the previous ROM version 2.09.651.3 posted as the Download below. This will restore previous functionality to the device until a new version is complete.

Additionally, HTC is currently developing a separate ROM update which enables the EV-DO Rev. A and GPS capabilities that are already built into the Mogul hardware. Sprint and HTC plan to make this software ROM available in early 1Q 2008. We would also like to extend our thanks to those customers that have taken the time to identify and report these issues to us."

The link is the HTC Mogul software downloads link. Here is the link:

Link takes you to this:

NOTE: The ROM update version 2.16.651 posted on 10/24/2007 which had Bluetooth fixes has been removed. Update 2.16 caused some unanticipated conflicts in device performance. The Bluetooth fixes will be added to a future ROM update expected in early 2008. If you already updated your device to version 2.16, you can restore your device to the prior version by installing the file posted below. Please bookmark this webpage for future software updates.

Same thing that has been up since they took down the 2.16. I was just curious to see it on an company site and not BAW.
