Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Sorry but I'm very new to smart phones, Windows Mobile, and forums. Can anyone tell me where to find the zip file that I need to do this. TalynOne said it's attached to the post but I can't seem to find it. I've clicked on every link in the post. Thanks in advance.

Volad123, you are not serious are you? If you read this Thread starting with post 1 then post #2, it will be there. Its at the end of post #2. You need to read it and remember to read before you post! Everything you need is all here. Im not trying to come off arrogant or anything, but definitely read this post from start to finish. Its all here!

Update for new "Official" Sprint 6.1 Shipped (and DCD 3.2.0 variant thereof)
So I installed this according to TalynOne's instructions on the new Sprint 6.1 ROM that DCD posted today (and also on DCD's 3.2.0 kitchen build).
Then, I ran speed tests using different internet connection means (i.e., Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and Wireless Modem). I also used PAM on a Sanyo Pro 700 as a baseline. For each one, I ran 3 tests (and took average) off of dslreports.com/stest (flash based - same server). D = download speed, U = upload speed. The PAM (Sanyo Pro 700) won hands down: 740 D, 400 U, 111 ms latency Having said that, the Mogul was not far behind in at least one of the tests: With ICS: 625 D, 220 U, 131 ms latency With WModem: 375 D, 345 U, 129 ms latency As the test results show, there is something that is slowing Wireless Modem app down. Clearly, ICS is faster on the download. Any chance Wireless Modem needs to be tweaked/updated for the latest 6.1 ROM? If so, please advise how. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Never mind. Once I installed TalynOne's v.2 cab (post 108 ) on top of my manual install, everything is now working fine. I think that there is something that slows things down in the BT_DUN implementation in the new ROM (the one thing I did not install, cuz I thought it was baked into ROM) that is corrected in the cab. Thanks, TalynOne Last edited by sd_matto; 06-25-2008 at 03:05 AM. |

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
For 6700 you don't need the hack. Just run WModem on the phone, choose connection type (USB/BT), press Connect; From your PC, install the modem as a dial-up connection, then right-click and it will connect.
The only file you need is PPC6700SP by Sprint.INF . If you need it, PM me. |

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
I have a problem that I hadnt seen posted here, so at least it is unique
When I try to set up a dialup connection on my laptop, it fails. I do not have a modem in the laptop, so it is having a problem creating the connection. I am using Vista, and I try to follow the directions but no luck so far. Anyone else having this problem? Greg EDIT - I just had a thought. Is it possible that someone else could create their shortcut, and then upload it here for download? I dont know whether that would work but just a thought. |

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
on the stock VZW rom I always bumped against the EVDO limit at roughly 1.7Mbps with the stock "modem link" application. Now after flashing with a supposed EVDO rev.a rom I cant get it past 1Mbps with either ICS or the wireless modem app outlined in this thread. Is it possible the modem link application had some special settings pertaining to verizon? This was one of the main reasons I flashed, rev.A and GPS, its a shame that this rev.A capable software cannot even reach the speeds I got previously with the normal evdo standard. thoughts or suggestions anyone? I'm open to anything at this point.
