Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
to further clarify twin's post:
the setting should actually say "disable" (this means it's enabled) if it says "enable" then change it to say "disable"

Open up your dialer, and dial in ##3282#
doesn't work for telus customers.... How do we do this step for the p4000 on the telus service? Quote:

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
I combine some of all of the info I've found...
Did the three reg tricks found in the first post, as well as deleting the 'Extension' reg key from LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing. Seems to work just fine so far, thanks!

Forcing EVDO??
I've been using the Wmodem program for a couple weeks and the setup, etc...listed here worked great with no problems.
My problem is that my Mogul keeps using the painfully slow 1x connection in areas where EVDO is available. For example, I live near an interstate and always get EVDO here. If I drive out into the boonies and get a 1x connection and then come back here, it's still on 1x. There are two issues at hand here: 1.) The phone is not using the best available service 2.) If I shutdown Wmodem, the 1x connection immediately turns back to EVDO. How can I correct this problem? I don't mind if it uses a 1x connection if that's all there is, but there's definitely something else going on here. Evan |

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Thank you TalynOne:
Awesome job Works great and I am sending this message using my modem. The only problem I got on my PC is that there is an unknown “generic serial” driver. Thanks Mehdi |

Are you running XP? If so, then when Installing the drivers, it detects 2 devices, the "HTC Modem driver" and then the "diagnostics driver". At which point you will need to point to the C:\DRIVERS\32bit\XP\HTC Diagnostics Interface and once thats detected, it will ask yet again for the HTC USB Modem drivers located in the C:\DRIVERS\32bit\XP\HTC USB Modem folder. If you failed to detect it and it shows in the device manager, just click on Update Driver and select these folders above to install it properly. Remember when it detects the HTC Diagnostics, you will then be asked yet again for the HTC USB Modem drivers! LATE, TWIN |

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Anyone successfully tether with win98/ME? I can't find a driver to save my life. I do have xp & 2000 going but would like to get an old laptop that only likes 98 or me. Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Has anyone applied these hacks/registry settings, tethered, and gotten caught by Sprint? I'm especially interested in hearing of people getting caught after installing the newest ROM.
