Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
I had this working with the 3.56 ROM, but recently had to hard reset. Upon hard resetting and reinstalling the DUN cabs, I began receiving the following error:
Data Provisioning Failure Error Code : 1012 Could not prepare Vision services. Please try again later. If the problem persists, you may need to contact Sprint. Can anyone troubleshoot? |

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Well.......All you have to do is make sure that the existing data connection that the phone has is terminated, you can do this by going into the comm manager. Once you do this start wmodem and then choose USB mode and click menu then start. After this is done you connect the phone to your computer and have the computer dial out.

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
well, I'm not going to say it's impossible, cuz I have heard of it working. but it's really not worth the effort IMO. better off getting a good online fax service, and if you only need to fax out, www.qipit.com and others offer that for free. I used ringcentral when I needed an incoming #, their very reliable.

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Thanks for the info... I do have a fax service. I am using efax.com for both incoming and outgoing fax's. What Im looking for is free faxing... I really want to take avantage of the free nights and weekends as I send out about 400 to 800 fax's to schools. I will keep your website in mind as it looks like it might be cheaper then what I am using now, but would really like to use the free nights and weekends on my phone. I have also though of buying a cheap razor and activating it for $9.99 (one month only) and send the faxes using that device as I know it will work as a modem (the real kind, not the one you find with internet sharing devices).

TalynOne,
Spelling and grammar aside, thanks for the tutorial. I was able to apply the direction and accomplish the connection. In fact, I have been using it since April 2008. Thanks again. |
