I agree. I really cant imagine using the phone for text and email without a physical keyboard. That is the main thing holding me back. I would switch to a Treo 800 if they were out.

The mogul is ideal if it only WORKED. I would be more than happy if it just functioned normally and had GPS. I dont have issues with the amount of memory (when its not leaking). It's just sad that this phone has been handled so badly. Sprint/hTC really dropped the ball on this one.

Yep, that's my beef too. I don't use BT so the phone works just fine for me. I haven't run into this memory issue everyone talks about too, usually have anywhere from 15-22 meg free depending on what is running.

If this phone didn't have a keyboard I wouldn't have bought it.

I'd let Sprint hear from you

As for trading in the phone or getting a refund - I'd be happy to go to the treo 800w at this point. Although I'd miss a big screen I'd really like a phone that I can use as a phone. Hopefully more people will post here - baw - Mogul not as advertised: Sprint, what now? - PDA and Smart Phones - http://forums.buzzaboutwireless.com/...thread.id=1937

It seems to me that Sprint still stiffs you if you bought the mogul when it came out as the Touch is a less expensive phone.

Hmm, I don't know about that. I came from a Moto Q to a Mogul for nothing, just document all your errors and speak with customer retention. Eventually they give you a phone to hang up. Although paying full price for the Mogul to a Touch can seem a bit bad, yeah. Shoulda got a broken Moto Q. :P

I have been to the Sprint store where I bought my 6800 three times with no success. Called *2 at least a dozen time with not luck. Talked to retentions twice. Still no luck. Sent an email to e-care and this is the response I got.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I'll be glad to assist you.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration the issues with your Mogul have caused. I understand the frustration these issues can cause; however, I'm sorry to inform you that we are unable to exchange the Mogul for the HTC Touch.

At this time there is known issues with the Bluetooth on the HTC Mogul and the manufacturer HTC released a software update for this phone on 10/24/07; however, this update did not resolved the issues and resulted in some unexpected new software issues; therefore, it was removed from their support page and we suggest you keep the existing software version and revert back to the previous software version if you have already attempted to upgrade.

I can confirm that Sprint and HTC are currently working to have a new software release available by 11/30/07 online at:

http://www.america.htc.com/support/m...downloads.html

HTC is simultaneously developing a new software release for the phone that enables the EVDO Rev A and GPS capabilities that are already built into the Mogul hardware. Sprint and HTC plan to make this software available in early 2008. I regret to inform you that we cannot provide any more accurate information on the exact date this will be released.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reply to this email, and we'll be glad to assist you further.

We appreciate your business. Thank you, and have a great day.
