Re: auto rotate button with map key
Here is another method:

Using a registry editor go to "HKLM/System/GDI/Rotation".
Change "HideOrientationUI" from 1 to 0.
Change "LandscapeFixed" from 1 to 0.

This now gives you the option of choosing the 3 rotation options under "Screen" in system settings (Portrait, Landscape (right-handed), Landscape (left-handed)).

Now, under "Buttons" in the Personal settings you can map the media button to rotate the screen for you. This gives you the ability to rotate the screen whenever you want regardless of how you are holding the device. I find this much more useful than auto-rotation.

I figured it out . As long as you use the default home page ( Sense 2.1 ) you will have the weather animation . If you change the home page background theme , weather animation is disconnected. Now to try a fix for that.

I went into the registry and checked , when you change backgrounds it put a new background path into the registry. When that path changes it disconnects the weather animation.

OK did I miss something, does 2.1 have full screen weather animation or are you just talking about small weather icon under clock

Re: Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated Feb 3, 2010*

just tried this out since i had a fresh rom install.
runs great for the most part. thanks to all who put this together
i have no problem texting through the htc tab... actually texts a little faster then with 2.0.

i would like to get rid of the weather animation. it slows down the phone and is a little much every time i go to the home tab. wish it would only run every once in awhile.

did a quick search and did not come up with an easy way to shut it off... i'm sure one of you manila gurus has the answer though.

the only other problem i have is with the home tab weather city. i have my home city there but it will not update. other cities i have added update fine.... i thought this is because i have sashimi put my home city in but perhaps its "my location" which is known not to work.

The GPS does not work on my location yet , they are working on it.
Just put a new background on your home page and that will disconnect the weather animation. when you want the animation back go back to the default home page and the animation is back.

i would rather just "turn it off" if possible but yes, changing wallpapers is a known fix, thank you.
