The "camera modes" are really the "capture modes" you can find/change by starting Camera and then clicking Show Nav - Capture Mode. Modes P1 thru P5 and P7 are the ones that show up by default. The ones not active are:

P6 = Burst - takes 30 pictures in quick succession
P8 = Sports - takes 5 pictures in quick succession
P9 = Video Share - configures automatically for sending via email
P10 = GPS Photo - GPS tagged photos

WRT P6, I just could never get it to work so yes, I just don't enable it. It will show up in the menu. You can select it. The camera will do something . . . Others may have had better luck with it - maybe I'm just too impatent.

Sorry Sailor, not sure I know what you're referring to. Are you talking about one of the effect like graysacle or sepia?

EDIT: Just found it. Start camera then click Show Nav - Capture Mode. Picture theme is one of the options there. Just select one of the other capture modes like "picture". That should do it.

Re: My Very Own Extra Special Device Registry Edit Log

Question on #8 disable sms message sent. I follow the registry down to "settings" and then my choices are OEM or Svc. Can't find that string that reads SMSNoSentMs g = "2". I'm greener than grass with this stuff so go slow and thanks.

I confirmed that the path is correct:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMs g =2

The only other thing I have in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\ is an empty folder titled 'OEM'. No 'Svc' folder.

Have you made any othert mods that could've changed the directory's contents? Your call but you can probably add a DWORD 'SMSNoSentMsg' entry with a value of 2 without any real concern about being able to undo it if it doesn't work.

I think you are having the same problem i had when i first started trying to figure out registry edits... When you get down to the settings folder and open it you have another folder "OEM". And then you are probably looking for another folder "SMSNoSentMs".

Instead you actually need to click on that "Settings" folder. The "SMSNoSentMs" is actually in that settings folder. Not in a folder in the folder. If that makes any sense. SO instead of opening the plus sign on the Settings folder- you actually need to go into the settings folder and when you do you should see what you are looking for.

hope that makes sense.

Maison, many thanks for your help. I followed your instructions and got to where I needed to go. Couldn't have done it without your help. Thanks again.
