Okay, so I'm a bit of a nerd. I keep a log list of 'non-cabbed' registry edits I made to my phone with me so if I find myself troubleshooting, tweaking, or restoring away from my home PC (I travel a good bit for work) I always have a detailed accounting of my changes.

It looks like it's become a good compiliation of the most popular tweaks so I figured I'd post it for anyone to who might be interested. I can say that there's not a single tweak on the list that I can take credit for.

a. Create Folders in Windows\Start Menu\Programs. I used Backup, Configuration, Games, Navigation

b. Copy the links of the programs from Windows\Start Menu\Programs into the folder you want to see programs

c. Use a registry editor to add these folders to your TF3D Start Menu.

- Entries are stored under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLaun cher.

- You will see there keys named 0 to 23. 0 is for the tab that is on the top left of the start menu, 1 is for the tab in the top middle, 3 is the tab in the second row left side, and so on.

- Before you change anything here check on which tabs you want to have the folders in the Start Menu.

- Open the key that you want to be your folder on. There are 5 entries, (Default), DispName, IconPath, IsReadOnly and Path.

Change ‘DispName’ to the name you want displayed under the icon on the Start Menu

Change ‘Path’ = to the folder’s location (e.g. "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Navigation")

Change ‘IconPath’ = to the icon’s location on the device

d. Close the registry editor and do a Soft Reset.

the weather update one worked??? we have been trying to get that one solved with no luck???? how often does it update?

Great post and Thanked! Can you tell me more about what each camera mode does? I'm also curious what INACTIVE means. Did you just choose not to make those reg edits or is there something wrong with them?

Yes. Unless I have an inactive data connection at the time it tries to update (i.e. talking on the phone, the phone shut off, etc.) my weather is never more than an hour old . . . which is what i have my refresh time set to using that regedit.

Trust me I'm not doubting you or anything. But we all tried those cabs for the weather update and none worked. Maybe you have to phisically add the DWORD??? I actually tried all three cabs and then went in and manually put in my own numbers with no luck. Did you add or use the cab's???

Same question as wedgemoose, many have tried and none have succeeded. I even tried enabling my data connection on all the time and it still didn't work.

I didn't execute any cabs. When the weather update was a hot topic, I pulled down one of the cabs everyone was fooling with, interrogated the setup.xml to see what edits it was making, created the DWORD manually using Total Commander, tested it a bit, and added it to my list.

I'm scratching my head a little though now that a few of you have commented on this particular one: I'm certain I set the DWORD value to 60 when I added it but after a few of you commented on it today, I went to the reg setting to confirm. Presently, my DWORD value for this is 900. I still maintain I rarely see my 'updated X X ago' anything longer than 1 hour.

I'm going to fool with this a little more and if I don't gain any confidence there's some link between cause and effect, I'll pull this one off the list. Apologies for the confusion and thanks for checking my work.
