the evo wont be out until after the nexus one, bank on that. the nexus is due this summer so the evo will be early fall. they wont release both at the same time.

btw if you want the final sprint 2.1 go to xda and download the new damage rom.

The new damage rom is anything but final. I went back to 1.5 after 2 hours.

sprint has said the Evo will launch this summer, and why wouldn't they release them at the same time? 1. the Evo will probably only be made available in markets that have 4G, so non 4G markets with customers looking for the Evo will probably be shown the N1 2. most people are assuming the Evo will come with a hefty price tag so even if they launch at the same time a tiered pricing structure will probably be enough to drive demand on the N1 3. if the current business model on the N1 holds true for sprint, it won't be available in any sprint store anyway so Sprint will likely want a new android device to show off in store
So i don't see why they can't launch them at the same time or at least in close proximity with to each other
Evo's web page shows Summer 2010:

not to contradict you, but why would the evo only be offered in 4G networks? its still a great 3G phone. its like gasing your car. put in mid grade for functioning purposes. dump in premium and unleash the beast. dunno, just wouldn't make sense to me. to pick or choose phone offerings. and where is the info on the N1? only word out there is a tweet from sprint stating N1 coming to sprint. no date or pricing has been released....or am I wrong?

fair enough, the Evo could easily go to 3G service areas but it would make more business sense that areas that have 4G will get priority so it may not show up in 3G only areas until well after launch depending on demand and inventory constraints in 4G areas

and there isn't really any info for sprint's N1, the business model I was referring to was google's the Tmo ATT and as far as we can tell VZW N1 are being sold exclusively through google.com/phone so we could also assume it will be the same for Sprint's version

again, i didn't say they wouldn't, i said they would probably put priority on 4G areas and depending on how much demand they have or how much priority they put on it, supplies would be constrained in non 4G areas

They could also do the same thing that they did with the Monoment and the Hero, having them launch within 1 month of eachother..... Both are looking like awesome phones.
