Mine got stuck at 10% once, but the second time went through. Can you open Internet Explorer and make sure you can connect to the Internet? If that does not work try calling Cingular tech support and see if your settings need to be different.

report: worked with JP Softbank 3G HSDPA network

Just to report that this app worked fine on HTC TyTN + CE Star (Japanese/Chinese localizer) + ATOK (input method), with JP Softbank 3G network. Settings:

(1) Setup VFJP MMS
Name: Softbank MMS
Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
APN: mailwebservice.vodafone.ne.jp
User Name: vodafonelive
Password: qceffknarlurqgbl
Domain: (blank)
(No Proxy Settings Required)

(2) Setup Palm Messaging App
[Menu]-[Options]-[Advanced]tab-[Manual]-[Edit]
Message Center Number: +819066519300
Email Center Number: (blank)
MMS Gateway Address: vfkkmmsproxy.vodafone.ne.jp:8080
MMS URL: http://mms/
Network Profile: VFJP MMS (the one you created in step 1)

(3) Change Registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Palm\Varnish\Messaging \MMS
APN: mailwebservice.vodafone.ne.jp
MMSUA: Softbank/1.0/705SC/SCJ001
MMSProxy: vfkkmmsproxy.vodafone.ne.jp:8080
MMSC: http://mms/

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc
MMS1 Key -> MMS1.old
SMS Key -> SMS.old
# Rename Keys, not values

That's it!

I've encountered a few issues with this software;

(1) When trying to browse long MMS (at least several pages long on TyTN) the Palm Messaging client crashes with no error message. This is annoying as I can only tell it was too long after clicking on it - and the software crash.

(2) In "inbox" view, unread messages are bold; this is fine, but if the title contains Japanese characters it looks like "FW:" or "RE:" and does not show the real title. Once I read them and then the title is correctly displayed.

Have any of you find any of the above issues, esp. (1)? Could you reproduce the problem with long English emails?

I got my 8525 a few days ago. After installing my apps and doing a back-up, I installed the Palm Messaging app. SMS seems to be working (I haven't tried MMS yet, but I did make the necessary server changes). The only thing that bothers me is that on the today screen, my left soft key used to say Calendar and now says SMS. How can I change it back to Calendar?

Thanks,

Thanks, but I wish the 8525 had that Soft Keys control applet, but it doesn't.

Thanks!

While looking around at xda developers, I found the soft key applet that is missing from the 8525. Seems to work fine. I attached it so that anyone else can use it too.

Now if we can only get the OK and Start menu buttons to be reclaimed, I would be really happy!
