I originally removed every file on the list (except midlib2.dll) then did a soft reset. Then I reinstalled the app, then used SKtools to remove the app. and soft reset.

It looks like it left behind both messaging.exe and messagingapp.exe.

I just manually deleted these and did a soft reset.

still there...wtf
edit: actually, the app is now gone, but the message count is still 6 and sms softkey is still there.

I will hard reset when I get home.

actually I have a backup, I'll try that first.

EDIT:
I restored a backup and deleted all messages, then installed the app. Everything seems to be working correctly now.

?
In the today screen do I need to select both "Inbox" and "messaging" for both sets of messages to show? Before, "messaging would list email and sms.

Thanks again for everyones help...everything is working perfectly now, and no hard reset required. This is the most useful TyTn upgrade, a close second is the new MS Voice Command 1.6. With these two apps, my Tytn is now far superior to any Treo or Palm I have ever owned, and I've had them all.

Cingular 8525 not send/receiving MMS in text after install

Hey thanks for the cab... I am so glad to be receiving threaded text messages again...

I am sending emails and MMS messages fine through their respective menus. However the only problem is, it looks like when sending MMS messages via text the message gets hung up or doesn't send at all.

You guys have any ideas how I can fix this and resume texting MMS messages??

I used the Cingular numbers you gave above, are those the "standard". Is there a message center number I should be aware of or change??

Network profile is default.

Are you using the 8525 or 8125?

You'll have to help him out here pattmanyc, I'm UK based and don't know any settings for Cingular.
What's the IPADDRESS:PORT he needs to put in?
We should have a thread just for network settings for reference that only Mods can ammend? That'd help everyone out a fair amount

I posted them on pg 1, I think he said they didn't work for him. I'm still waiting for him to reply.

Cingular 8525 not send/receiving MMS in text after install

Thanks again for the information.

I entered all the info from the previous pages and double checked the numbers. All is entered correctly.

I can send/receive text messages just fine. I can send/receive emails and MMS messages just fine in their respective menues.

The problem is when I try to send any type of media in a text message. I get a little box in the upper right hand side of the screen with a 10% symbol and arrows showing that something is sending back and forth... It seems that the media text message just hangs and never gets sent or received. Tried sending it to myself a couple of times... and nothing.

In addition, if I don't go back and delete that text, everytime I turn on the phone it tries to send/receive that same text message. Found out this morning that it killed my battery because it was constantly trying to send/receive that same media text message.

Fortunately that is really the only problem I have found. And I guess I just won't text any media.

I have the new Cingular 8525 and actually think with a few tweaks it completely blows away any treo.

Any more ideas on what I should do to the 8525 to tweak it out even more??

Thanks again for your support!
