forgot to mention the Visual voicemail, that actually surprised me when i saw the HD2 had it, probably the single feature i miss from my Hero
I didn't see a document reader tab on the HD2 i was messing with however don't really see how its helpful, when it comes to viewing documents i assume the native office program would be better, but i'll take a peek tomorrow
and as far as the B&N program like i mentioned, theres one available (although unofficial) for any windows mobile phone and after playing with it i'm impressed, i havent seen the HD2's app but i'll look at it tomorrow when i get an active unit running

but the short answer to both questions would be no the TP2 doesn't have those tabs but the HD2 doesn't have a sprint tv or sprint navigation tab, so there are some minor tweaks depending on the carrier but the underlying version of sense is the same

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

i have both the Sprint TP2 and hd2. the hd2 takes what the TP2 does to the next level. i don't want to start anything, but there's a big difference between having one and playing with one. to say the hd2 is like a TP2 is like saying the tp is like the TP2. right off the bat, a plus for the hd2 is fm radio. a minus, no tv out.

Yeah I guess I wouldn't use the navigation tab for the same reason you wouldn't use the documents tab. It just takes you into the program as soon as you click on the tab anyway...documents tab is nice for me because i get lots of attachment with my e-mails (powerpoints, word documents, etc), so having a snapshot list of all my office documents right in Sense is a great feature I use all the time, finding all those documents by going through file explorer or total commander is a nightmare...heres how it looks on the hd2.

True, phones definitely aren't what they seem up front, that's why I had a Pre for only 2 months before trading up to the Hero, it seemed really cool at first then it just became obnoxious. And I understand its not exactly a fair comparison to put the HD2 against the TP2 but as my post stated, the TP2 is really the only thing Sprint has that can come close to putting up a fight at the moment

I never had a problem using stock file explorer to find documents. But most of the time I just open the word program and it'll list all the documents it can find so I guess whether or not that tab is useful depends on individual experience

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

i agree with you jbear. i'm trying to explain the difference between the hd2 and anything not running the snapdragon. some folks post the same ol' same ol' about dead os'es and stuff like that. android, winmo, whatever, if it has a snapdragon processor, you'll know the difference! right now on my tp2, i have 87 mb storage free, 54.57 mb program. on the hd2, 533.28 mb storage and 235.25 mb program left! and it still flies!

Yeah, one thing I actually forgot to mention...

aside from the 16gb micro SD card the phone comes with...the HD2 has 1gb of flash memory on the phone itelf, which means you will NEVER run out of space to install programs...ever.

and I can understand that the HD2 would perform better under pressure because of the extra ram however the only time i've had ram problems is when running Skyfire which is a notorious memory hog anyway. and slowdown is minimal but yes it happens whereas i'm sure the HD2 wouldn't when there'es several programs running simultaneously

unless i install programs to my memory card anyway which 9 times out of 10 i do so my 8GB memory card does just fine, it holds most of my programs, all of my documents, and the music i actually take with me and i still have 2GB free
but obviously that's up to individual usage
