So is this the only new phone Sprint is announcing at CES 2011? I'm disappointed if it is. At&t and Verizon are announcing all types of new 4G phones. I have the EVO and I'm ready for something better preferably with a dual core processor

This is what I've been wondering: Why would Sprint announce such an underwhelming phone during CES if they didn't have something else in the wood-works to blow it out of the water?

The only thing I can think of is that 1) they are waiting for some new hardware to become available or 2) they are waiting for some new software to become available.

Other than that, I can't think of a reason to put this only egg in their CES basket.

It has been known for sprint to be behind the curve for some time

i really want this phone but i think i am going to pass. i wanted the big screen but i hate that its the same size as the tp2 and no front facing camera...sucks. i hope sprint has something better with a slide out keyboard, 4g, android.

Sprint normally announces new stuff during CTIA not CES. Why are folks getting their hopes up for something really different this year????

Correct! and my scouring and web-searching inside leaks & gossip leads me to believe
HTC and Sprint will have a very nice surprise in March!

Will it have a slide out QWERTY life the Shift and Dual Core?
If so, what is the anticipated release date?

I NEED a QWERTY and I am about to buy a Epic or Shift because I'm beginning to fear the Epic and Shift might be the last QWERTY options for a while, if not forever.
