Re: What do you think about gingerbread-evo-deck ROM?
This is HTC EVO.It is a powerhorse!!
Using senseless Rom means you all give up on this device and simply trying to clean up OS so device can be usefull... Think about it.How about jump into sense boat and improve it to perfection,or make a flawless ginger-sense ROM? Deck made a perfect base, and I'm sure with support and ideas from all of us we can run much greater ROM. Do not give up on SENSE UI.I would never pay for EVO if it couldn't run Sense ROM. This is the future (buggy and crappy as of today, but guy trying really hard....) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796710

Re: What do you think about gingerbread-evo-deck ROM?
I'm the complete opposite. If I bought this htc phone and had to run sense I would've never bought this phone. I would've stayed with my n1 till the nexus s came out. Thank God for cyanogenmod

Clearly you have never used SPB's Shell 3D. I'm running it and it completely blows HTC Sense out of the water. I suggest you try it out. Yeah, it's expensive (only $15, but that is still pretty expensive for an app). But the price is the only negative. The actual app is by far the best interface available for an Android phone. Try it out for about 3 days and see if you can go back to HTC Sense after that. https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result EDIT: Make sure you use it on a ROM that doesn't have Sense like Cyanogenmod or Evo Deck. I haven't used it on a Sense ROM so I don't know if it would lag or not on a Sense ROM. It's smooth as butter on both Evo Deck and CM7 though (the only 2 ROMs I have used it on). Lots of people say Samsung's interface sucks, or Motorola's interface sucks. If you are using Shell 3D on your HTC phone, you could keep using that same interface on a Motorola (or whatever) phone. So you wouldn't even have to consider the interface when you are looking at your next phone. It opens up the field of consideration. |

Re: What do you think about gingerbread-evo-deck ROM?
I am retired military and do my updates like a good soldier (Marine). Between versions, I do a Nandroid B/U, be sure that Titanium Pro has done its thing and then I wipe everything twice. Then I install the update and the Gapps and go through the tedious process of restoring my phone. I set up my Email accounts, Facebook, Twitter and restore apps, etc.
With Deck releasing nearly daily updates, this is wearing me down. Am I over killing the process? Is there a better way? I thought I saw someone talk about doing a partial Nand restore. I have never restored from a Nand, never had too, so I don't know what a restore looks like. Can I restore my settings? Is it necessary that I wipe everything? I will know soon. Between RC9 and RC10 I only wiped the Dalvik VM cache. Okay, I am booted up and everyhting is there and works. So, what is the rule here?
