Re: Dial *18 when your signal is bad.
Running CM6 and I have the signal strength running next to my bars. Where I sleep I consistanly get -88 my signal was uneffected. This might be a CM6 thing because I know the ##data# doesnt work on this rom. But I no for a fact that on my phone running CM6 this has not done anything.

Re: Dial *18 when your signal is bad.
I can raise the bars for a little bit on the Evo by dialing ANY number. "I have hypocondria, but fortunately I was prescribed some placebos"

Re: Dial *18 when your signal is bad.
I can confirm that this...does not work in my area. I live in Walls, MS which is as far northwest in MS you can go without hitting the river or Memphis. I get between 0 and 1 bar consistently, but occasionally it'll jump up to two. Using this I saw no increase whatsoever.
On another note, if I walk down to the end of the driveway and run xtremelabs speedtest, I get close to 1.5 mbps with like 3 bars. But in the middle of Memphis with full service, I get roughly 0.5 mbps down, if I'm lucky. Is it strange that the rural areas can pull faster speeds than densely populated metro areas? |
