I can confirm that this...does not work in my area. I live in Walls, MS which is as far northwest in MS you can go without hitting the river or Memphis. I get between 0 and 1 bar consistently, but occasionally it'll jump up to two. Using this I saw no increase whatsoever.

On another note, if I walk down to the end of the driveway and run xtremelabs speedtest, I get close to 1.5 mbps with like 3 bars. But in the middle of Memphis with full service, I get roughly 0.5 mbps down, if I'm lucky. Is it strange that the rural areas can pull faster speeds than densely populated metro areas?
