Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update.

so if I've updated my phone(not rooted) without incident, whatever is in this new/re-released update is unnecessary?

Re: Can the OTA Update be uninstalled? (100% Full Stock)

If it installed and your phone is ok, why would you want it uninstalled? I installed the OTA yesterday no issues. You could probably flash back to the Stock ROM though if you really wanted to.

I know and decided to not use the term "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but then after I fixed it anyway I remembered that I was going on vacation next week and would like to use my phone as a hotspot, at least just to try it out "FREE" but of course the update fixed all of that and the app for the stock rom wont work with it... so I've read.

This new release is the same update but it probably has some check involved to make sure it doesn't accidentally flash the radio twice which is what caused the brick.

Not as nice as the hotspot option, but you could grab PDANet free edition and use that to tether while on vacation. Think after 14 days it stops going to https sites but other than that should work fine. Been using it since I got the phone, the few times I needed to tether so far.

Full root still works for me after yesterdays update and free wifi tether is also still working. Apparently it breaks unrevoked but didnt break full root in my case.
