Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update.

About how long will it take for the phone to notify us of this update automatically without having to go into the system update section to look for it manually?

Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update.

Thanks Mazzakre.............you gave me confidence to install the update! I did notice that yesterday (or whatever day that was) the update was only like 23.something mb..........just looked today and its 30mb! Seems a couple of people with fully rooted phones installed it with no problems and are actually getting better battery life! I'll let you guys know what happens to me tomorrow because I wanna use the phone with the update to see if anything changes!

P.S.: I'm fully rooted too.....no PC for me!

No problem. From what Ive read the worse that will happen if youre fully rooted and try to update you'll get an error but no brick. Just wont take. It looks like all the bricks are from people that tried to update the first update twice. Installed when it auto pushed to their phones then checked the software updates and tried to update again. Let us know how it goes

I know voicedial comes with froyo, not sure what you mean by control of any telephone features. Is it something that was there before but not there now?

Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update (Sprint re-released the update - 6/29)

I just ran the update and i chose to download it via WiFi only. It finished the download but didn't do anything for quite some time after that. I then powered off (full power off) and then back on. Shortly after booting back up, I headed to the settings and a pop-up came asking if I wanted to do the update. I said yes. It did its thing for several minutes after that and it finished off with a congrats screen saying it was done. I had to remove and reapply some widgets but the WiFi is definately better. 3x speeds and 2x the reception. I dont know yet about 4g. I am in an area where I am supposed to be able to get it, but I am not getting it. I will have to test when I go into town.

Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update (Sprint re-released the update - 6/29)

I went to install the update today (30mb) and upon installing it reboots then freezes with the android character with a triangle with a ! in it. It then will not shut off and I have to take the battery out to reboot it.
Im fully rooted using OMJ ROM (not the latest). Am I doing something wrong? Please help. Thanks!

I really want the new radio because my wifi is terribly weak unless im in the same room as my router.

Yes, they were there before; all "telephone" functions: initiate call, end call, volume up and down etc. The issue is that the phone radio no longer connects when the bluetooth headset connects Only media audio and controls function.
