Re: OTA Update removes android wallpapers, breaks shootme, disallows Android 2.1 laun

based on this....that's not the only thing the update was breaking (or bricking) for some Evo users. i actually know of one person that did the update and bricked his phone. can't get it exchanged because device is out of stock.

OTA Update removes android wallpapers, breaks shootme, disallows Android 2.1 launcher

Since we have so many threads basically saying the same things about the OTA update, I made this thread which merges them all together, also any future more discussions about it should go in this thread as well.

Thanks!

Speedtest.net App + 06-28 OTA

Ok, found something interesting which I never saw or noticed before. When running the speedtest.net app, it now blinks the GPS signal on the notifications.. This is after the 06/28 OTA.

Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update.

i haven't done the OTA yet... I'm concerned from all the hype. I have a stock EVO... no root, just the first OTA. I'm wondering if the 8gb SD card that came with the phone is neccessary to have this OTA work properly. I've already installed my 16gb, and was wondering if I should put my 8gb back in just in case, or should I sit tight until everything is ironed out i.e. FROYO?

well, you don't have to worry about an update for now. Sprint removed it because of all the issues people were having. No word on when it will be back.

Is there a link to the xda OTA removal procedure? The new radio is sucking for me in the NE US. I'm getting worse reception and quicker battery drain. Thanks!
