I just did delete the app, it disappeared on the spot, rebooted and the app is still gone.
My bad., I deleted it from the system folder using Andriod mate. It is no longer there but still runs and I am clueless with adb commands. I have been a winmo user since the ppc6700 apachee.

I need to read up. Is there a good guide for abd floating around.

On another note I just found out that adb push application.apk /data/app installs the app on the phone without a filemanager

I'm with you. Are there any guides out there? Or maybe someone can write one for us noobs. I have no problem following FastRx8's directions via youtube or his posts. But the commands and stuff are confusing. I haven't messed with a dos prompt since I had to run old apps under Windows 95.

It works perfect... you can even shutdown the GPS and it will come back online on its own.

Well adb is a lot like command.com back on windows 9x but the base knowledge comes from using linux CLI.

The problem with the filemanagers is that they do not remount the filesystem with write permissions, so it looks like it executed properly but in reality nothing was done until you run the command above. The you can start modifying the folder as you wish.

I was to busy drinking bear in college to learn command.com on windows 9x. I also never had a need to learn linux.

So I guess I need to learn linux basics?

You were doing what??!

But on a serious note, yes if you start to learn at least the basics of linux you'll have a way better grip on android. CLI is very powerful.

I took me over two hours to do the full root. I did not see fastrx8's video until after I figured it out. I got it to work connecting the usb cable "chargeing" and not via "htc sync". To be honest I felt lucky to get it working. I used start "cmd" and cut and pasted the commands in. I realy have no clue as to what most of the commands were.

Re: FULL Root now available!!!

If you still have to use the ADB with this how does this help? I thought the whole purpose was to be able to do this in android without having to go into recovery from the pc and do remotely? And how does this differ from the clockwork mod from the marketplace?

what you thought was the whole purpose is incorrect. of course to get full root access you are going to have to use adb. the purpose of this was to gain full root access so you don't need adb for everything else. now with full root access you can remove programs from android through root explorer instead of using adb to remove programs. after you do the full root then no longer will you have to go into recovery, but you have to full root first meaning adb codes are a must.
