Re: Two versions of Evos

All of you who have got in contact with HTC (and a Tech named Milo) he will send us all emails as to what the culprit of the problems are, and tell us what to do from there.

He said Sprint will start getting the new batches and giving those out. But this won't help us who have had our phones over 30 days because we'll probably be getting refurbs. So the other option is they will have us send it in, they repair our phone and send it back.. OR just give us brand new phones with the fixes in place and take ours and probably send them to Sprint as refurbs with the fixes in place.

IDK but either way, we should hear back soon.

Wait, im confused. We have barely had our phones for a week and a half, no 30 days. So if we went into a Sprint Store now to get out phone replaced, would we get a brand new once they got some in stock? Im confused, sorry if the answer is obvious.

EDIT: Nevermind, I reread the original post and figured out that the answer to my question is that they aren't sure yet. Oops.

since getting my replacement pre-loaded with the OTA update my EVO has been in heavy use (on purpose) i watched a full movie---turned on all auto settings and made a few phone calls and have the screen settings on auto------i have a constant connection on twitter and face book updating in background, heavy texting and emails and listening to music. as you can see i really tried to put it thru its tests to drain the batterey completely and to see how fast i could do it. right now its standing at 9-10 hours with that kind of usage---currently i am testing the regular standby time with no heavy use , i will report back later.

one thing though, be sure to always charge the device fully till LED is green, it will take about 4-5 full power cycles for the battery to realize its full 100% (i gave thanks to the user who told me that tip)

Re: Two versions of Evos

im not sure how many of you already know this but i just checked and my old HTC HERO battery is the same specs as the EVO, i went ahead and slammed it in and POW, it works, so if you were the owner of an HTC HERO you already have a spare battery on deck!! FTW!!! and im sure that old HTC HERO battery has been well provisioned so i hope i helped someone with that.

Re: Two versions of Evos

I last charged my phone at 5 pm the day before. Did normal (light for now) usage on it and then fired up the world cup on 4g. That lasted until 8AM and the battery was only 1/2 dead.

Where in LA are you living? I don't think there is any 4G signals around yet...

Re: Two versions of Evos

I work in Skid Row and have 4g, and can maintain that signal all the way from ~ Temple City/South Pasadena/San Marino.

I started the 4g to watch the game, once it was solid I fired up sprint tv and put spain vs switz on and it was good all the way to work. Got in my office and finished the game. Though the signal got a little bad after 5 mins, so I went to 3g and finished the game in that. I don't know why but 4g is spotty here.

Also my buddy has 4g further south towards... i can't remember where he's at but towards long beach.

You know, thinking about it I don't know if it can revert/switch down to 3g. But it was on and solid indicator. First time I tried it @ home I couldn't get it solid, it was searching (sending out little waves in the icon). But today it was good.
