Re: Two versions of Evos {Updated Results}

I have the 002 version and I am getting screen lift on the bottom edge. No prolblems with the battery cover or battery life. No grounding issues.

My wifi does suck though. That would be my only real complaint. The screen lift doesn't really bother me.

Re: Two versions of Evos {Updated Results}

the first one i got was 002, screen color was good but it had a dead pixel so i exchanged. Now i have version 003 but my screen is very hard to see from the angles, it looks so yellowish other than that everything is perfect. i dont know if i would exchange for another one.

Re: Two versions of Evos {Updated Results}

I have 003 for exactly a week now, and the only issue I have is the "non-grounded screen sensitivity" issue that has been confirmed as a software glitch by HTC (fix pending).

I've been tweaking the hell out of it, and am now getting phenomenal battery life.

Re: Two versions of Evos {Updated Results}

I currently have 002 and my brother has 003. I have seen 2 other 003 versions as well and so far every single Evo I have encountered all had some sort of light leak even if very small. I did not notice any screen lift on any of them, however.

I was viewing webpages at the time, but I have a pinkish glow when I turn it on different angles. 0002 version.

Doesn't bother me too much since I won't be looking at the phone like that.

Re: Two versions of Evos {Updated Results}

There is no correlation between hardware versions and these problems. There were a number of issues and a few hardware versions with the Hero when it was released (which I owned before the EVO), and there were tens of hundreds of threads on the various theories and associated problems with hardware versions.

I love my EVO, but I truly believe that HTC's build quality is overrated. My 3 Heros all had serious dust issues under the screen. Almost all EVOs have light leakage and, in due time, I bet they all have similar dust issues.

My wife's evo is a 003 and she has the light leak too. Not as bad as mine, but still there. And our batt covers are the same.

Re: Two versions of Evos {Updated Results}

I now have the screen lifting issue, it isn't bad, but I expect it to get worse.
