Theres only so much you can do to protect your phone...Get a otter box or something...put it in a coat pocket...either way...atleast you know your phone won't come out with a cracked screen....yeah this phone might have a sensitive glass screen...but you have ways of protecting it...use them...and save yourself from having to pay for a Insurance claim. |

I used to carry my phones on my belt, that is until I started carrying more important things on my belt which would force me to carry my phone on the left side where I's be even more likely to drop it because I'm right handed, that and the belts I currently have are very thick and belt holsters don't fit them very well. Either way, I fail to see your argument regarding belt holsters being better than pocket carrying.

1. Put your Evo in your Jeans front pocket...Now squat down...what do you feel? (Most likely your phone right now is being flexed in some way or another on your leg) This could be causing the screen pull up, but it could also be manf defect too. 2. Same as above, but sit down in your car or chair..what do you feel? (Probably not as bad as squatting, but you can feel the pressure on your leg from the Evo). 3. Your phone is in your pocket, it catches on the Jeans..falls out of your hand, waam! Hits the floor and cracks the screen or the outer shell..Now what? Flexing a phone is not a good idea...you risk cracking the screen...or LCD..or even worse the casing..now you have a Evo 4G paper weight..$200 shot down the drain...now what? Hopefully that explains what I mean..since the first time it didn't come in so clear. You say wearing a belt holster makes you a moron? How do you feel when you break your phone in your pocket or drop it?....feel like a Moron? I'm gonna guess your going to rebuddle against me again and try to prove me wrong...but countless posts how showing what I am saying to be the truth...and if you want proof...I will find it for you...no just the Evo, but other phones. |

Re: I dropped my phone and the screen shattered... Now with a picture.
Very well explained ^^
Its tough sometimes for folks to understand user error. I dont doubt that the screen shouldnt come up like that but once again, you are putting a PPC with the largest screen on the market at this time into your skinny jeans, it just isnt helping. |

But don't get me wrong I'm with you on the part that i am sticking $450 into my pocket every time I reach for my phone. You also have to look at it from this point I did not drop the phone as others did nor has it been dropped period. I was just walking and went to look at my phone and there was a crack from the side of the phone that spread to the rest of the phone. I would also have to say that there may be some poor build quality in the phone when people are breaking glass <10 into having the phone launch. Granted some people are ruffer on phones than others. But again I am not blaming HTC/sprint ere 100% I take my part on having stupid things in my pocket, what I am blaming them for 100% is not having a repair service started or have a time table to know when they will be able to start repairing phones. I do have insurance but right now we all know that it means nothing at this time because you cant even get a phone retail what makes you think you or anyone else is going to get one in a timely fashion. but again you had your opinion and I have mine. |

By no means am I arguing with you we all have you preferences on how and where we wear or hold our phones it just seems your idea may be better as your phone is not broken yet. its always hindsight after the fact but like i said i feel this is partly to blame on a defect in the glass or just a poor choice of glass. |

Re: I dropped my phone and the screen shattered... Now with a picture.
I keep my phone in my front right pocket with nothing else. The phone is not that big and sitting or squatting (at least for a person of my stature) is not going to cause significant bending of the phone great enough to crack the screen, or perhaps bend the phone at all. The EVO is hardly any bigger than the iPhone. I do not wear skinny jeans, but I also do not wear jeans that are very baggy.
On another note, I dropped my phone the other day from about 4 feet up onto my hardwood floor. No blemishes or damage was done to the phone. It probably hit the ground with enough surface area to spread out the impact and not break anything. |

HOPEFULLY you have insurance...
Fork out $150 claim the phone as lost (NOT STOLEN) and connect with the HDMI make it a fun toy for your TV. That's what I would do
