You can install a custom rom or just stay with stock like me and use programs like wifi tether and setcpu that require root. In still waiting till I install a custom rom. Should be doing it shortly though. There are alot of cool roms out there.

Re: UnROOT.

Just install an RUU. I wouldn't worry too much about the Signed Flag. It may still stay S = Off but all his permissions will be 'as if' unrooted.

what I worry about are updates. I just want to make sure that if sprint pushes something to her phone it gets installed...

Re: UnROOT.

Do the RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15. 00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed
or
RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.30.651.2_Radio_2.15. 00.09.01_NV_1.77_003_release_154209_signed
It should leave you like the day it came out of the box. I ran the 3.30 that way it totally unrooted me.
The RUU's are available at HTC and other places.

Rooted 3.70, Bootloader 2.10.0001 on new EVO

My daughter's Christmas present. For improved battery life, I rooted it using Unrevoked 3
bootloader 2.10.0001
Build 3.70.651
ClockworkMod Recovery x3.0.0.2

Ran without a hitch and I am doing a Nandroid Backup now. Using the new ClockworkMod Recovery x3.0.0.2. Looks a lot different. Can I still install Amon_RA 1.8? Do you think her RSA keys were safely backed-up?
Can I install Sprint Lover's or Azeal 3.0 on this?

As a Dad, I can not endure inflicting pain on my baby.

Re: Rooted 3.70, Bootloader 2.10.0001 on new EVO

I just went to install SuperUser on her phone from the Market and it fail to install. Said it was "Unsigned App". I booted into Bootloader and saw that she was at S=Off.
