Re: Why do I feel like an idiot trying to hack my new EVO 4G?

I cant get pass this:

Searching for phone...
Found the phone connected as 'device'
Checking MTD configuration...
Phone has the new partition structure.
Checking for root...
The ADB Shell does not have root permissions.

*This will take a few moments, please do not disturb this window or your phone
until it finishes...

Waiting for the phone...

The phone could not be found or was not ready. ADB and Fastboot report it as
'disconnected' instead of the expected 'device'. Make sure ADB debugging is
turned on and the phone is in the correct mode.
Press any key to exit...

Re: Why do I feel like an idiot trying to hack my new EVO 4G?

Install or re-install HTC_Synch. Then remove the HTC_Synch using Windows Uninstaller. Be sure to leave the Driver installer.
Make sure your phone is set to USB debugging under Setting\Application.
Plug the USB cable into the computer. Set the phone to Charge Only and try again.

I have version 0004 with hboot 2.02.

I can probably do the one from xda, but would rather take the easier of the two.

Re: Why do I feel like an idiot trying to hack my new EVO 4G?

You are suppose to use the hboot usb drivers provided by unrevoked, did you install them?? Secondly, htc synch has to be uninstalled from your computer. Third, when you connect your phone to the computer you need to select charge only and make sure it says usb debugging is enabled.
