Technically, that's what unrevoked does. Also, Jiqqaman has full root and nand unlocks on xda, that require only 1-2 clicks. Can't get much easier than that. Only for phones with 2.1. 2.2 is not yet rooted.

re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe

Help! I have well over 10 hours on getting this rom to work. I have been running 2.1 ver of Sprint Lovers with Full root. I have tried to install sprint lovers 2.2 rom and run into problems once I restart from recovery mode it just stuck at the 4g boot screen and keep restarting til i pull the battery. I have wiped data, cache and Dalvik before loading the rom. I have gone back to stock and rerooted using toast method and samething. Any suggestions guys?

Honestly questions about trouble loading a specific ROM should really be posted in that ROM's thread but I'll take a stab at it...
Are you sure you got a complete download of the ROM files? (I have no clue what size it is supposed to be)
Boot loops, from what I've read, are most commonly caused by insufficient wipes. How many times did you wipe? I've read that one or ten doesnt matter but you may want to try wiping each one two or three times if you haven't.
Which recovery are you using? It *shouldn't* matter but I use amon RA recovery and have been running smooth.
I only flashed one Sprint Lover ROM but it was an Eclair one in the PC36IMG file format.
It's possible something on your SD card is corrupted. (OK, just stabbing in the dark now )
btw-Know this-unless you can confirm you've LOST root I wouldn't purposely unroot/re-root (I did but I'm crazy like that) as you run the risk of not getting it back. When you have root you have it, re-doing it is not a valid troubleshooting technique I've ever heard of (unless you KNOW you've lost it, like I said)
Good luck.

re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe

Thanks for taking a stab.....I've stumped the chef of Spring lovers so I am trying here. I have wipe 2x for each. If it's something with my sd card, what is the best way to start fresh. I didn't know if there is a special format for the sd card.

I see, you did the right thing then
More questions:

Which recovery are you using?

Did you verify the file size with Chris to make sure you got a complete download?

So you are on what ROM right now?
There's one other stab-you may/might/possibly need to ensure you got ALL the 1.47 OTA files (not just radio and wimax).
Chris may have gotten those for you, I dunno, but when you re-rooted you most likely lost those. OMJ recommends having them before flashing his Froyo ROM.
I would go to OMJ's thread and go to Post #2. DL and install the v1.7 ROM1 update (PC36IMG format) then flash OMJ's Froyo ROM.
You should verify that you are nand unlocked first-load bootloader by power off then back on while holding Vol Down. If hboot doesnt say .76.2 then you are not "fully" rooted, if it does then you can flash that PC36IMG file of OMJ's (just to verify since you re-rooted)

If that works you should be able to jump back to Sprint Lovers without a problem.

If you want to reformat your card (still think it's a reach) then:
Backup your card onto your PC.
Reformat it with fats32.
Reboot with the blank card and let the device prep it.
Dont put anything but the ROM files back on the card.
Try the flash then.

re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe

Well all goes well untill I get to last step (5S)

ROOTING AFTER OTA 1.47.651.1 (Full Root)
__________________________________________________ ____________
5S) Now type (do not cut/paste this)

cat /sdcard/flash_image > /data/local/flash_image
chmod 755 /data/local/flash_image
/data/local/flash_image misc /sdcard/mtd-eng.img

If you typed each line correctly, you won't see any changes and the line will just repeat once when you hit enter. Each command takes a second or two.
__________________________________________________ _____________

^^^^^^
Thats were it goes bad , I get the repeat but it has "The system cannot find the path specified" at end of the repeat.
Files are on SD card yet path is not taking me to them.
Anyone have a clue why that is?

All that could mean is that
A) You mistyped something
or
B) The files are named incorrectly

If you try using Simple Root and it works, then the problem was a mistype.
Pay attention to spaces and adb shell is CaSe SeNsitiVe

Or I didn't enter each line independently & combined them all with enter on (5S) which was the case.
Direction was very vague on that front ,Maybe edit to direction is needed for newbies like myself

Anyway I will give it another try

Ok, now I need some clarification.
What part is vague?
The directions say "Now type (do not cut/paste this)"
