Well yeah, that's the screen it stays on when you try to boot into Recovery and dont have a recovery image loaded onto the phone. A battery pull will get you out of it.
How did you go from those sd card errors to that screen??
This is quickly becoming (became ) a thread hijack and the best bet may to go to some chat or PM to help you out.

No i did have to pull the batt off to get out of that screen but turned it back on and had it connected to my pc while I try to figure out what the hec to try next and it was just normal home screen showing and when I disconnected, the /i\ from the upper left corner never went away like it normally does when you disconnect it from the pc.

Ok, not sure how that happened on a brand new device but root or no root you may want to consider 'stopping the madness' and take her in for a hardware failure. You gotta make that call.
If you cant get the sd card to be read under normal circumstances (consistently) or even if you can and you pull off root you are most likely going to have all sorts of issues down the road with that port.

Yeah Im thinking I will end up having to take it in to the Sprint store...but I guess the only thing I can take it in for is the port problem? Im afraid if they notice anythings strange with my software they may say I voided my warranty or something and Im screwed

I just wish I could get it back to the shipped stock rom or the unbroken ota 1.47 before I take it to them.

Well you need root to be able to use that file and/or boot into recovery so that wont help you atm.
You could pull the battery and reboot the phone.
IF you have communication via your wiggly USB then you could try and run the batch file that is in the evo recovery folder you DL'd at the beginning of the process.
With your phone on that /i\ screen double click on the recovery-windows file in the evo recovery folder and if your lappy and the device are speaking to each other that will load recovery for you.
But based on your earlier post about 'device not found' that prolly wont work.

1) For a hardware failure, whatever you have/have not done to the software is irrelevant and I personally would fight then HARD on that IF it was an issue (Seriously doubt it)
2) You should be on the non-root 1.47 if you simply reboot the phone, right? Then as far as I can tell you have nothing to sweat.

Good luck.

Ok it wont work

Although maybe is that a good thing? I mean at least if the phone wont mount...they might not notice that the software has any issues, right??

So you're saying the phone is not even connected to the computer, but you still have the little USB debugging symbol in the notification bar?

If that is what you're saying, my phone does that sometimes too. Just reboot it and it will fix it.
