the PC36img file is FINALLY downloading. Apparently, I wasnt getting the complete file.

Did you rename the first PC36 file?
If you did and the second one didnt get read you may not have applied the mtd-eng file correctly.
When the device tries to read the second file what does it say?
As per the post above mine, are you sure you got the whole file?

You can be rooted with a $ sign. If you see that in adb then type su and look at your device for Super User asking for permissions. If it changes to a # you're all set.

At this point it doesnt appear that you have root.
Your best option would be to start over with Toasts method.
If you get errors dont just keep going, post up the errors you get.
Oh and get some sleep before you try this again.

eng-PC36IMG.zip should be 170mb according to the download status message.

It downloaded a 124mb file. Strange. Check your file size.

Perhaps someone could supply another mirror. I can't get this file from either posted sources today.

The error you're getting means that you don't have a file called "PC36IMG.zip" on your sdcard.
I spent a lot of time trying to help someone else that had this same error.
In the end, it turned out he had downloaded the file "eng-PC36IMG.zip" then he went to rename it, and he typed "PC36IMG.zip" but, his pc does not show extensions for common files. When he downloaded the file, all he saw was "eng-PC36IMG" because the .zip doesn't show. When he renamed it "PC36IMG.zip" he really created a file called "PC36IMG.zip.zip" but he couldn't see the last .zip

I'm not sure how to change it on Win7 or Vista, but on WinXP,
My Computer>Tools>Folder Options>View, there is an item that says "Hide extensions for known file types"
If you uncheck that box, you'll see the extensions for all common files (.zip .txt .mp3 .jpg)

Bottom line, you don't have to make the extensions show, just know that they are there. So in your case, you can just leave the .zip extension hidden and rename the file "PC36IMG"

Im not sure which issue talking about but im going to assume you mean last issue because he had other issues he posted and i dont know if youre talking about those or his latest one so here goes this is for his issue regarding rooting the phone after the ota 1.47.651.1 btw ru on the latest ota version because that is were claude is if youve done everything step 5M you get exact results screen you see the same messages in the adb shell window if get different message then something wrong post message you get well try figure out message some people get when trying do step 5M is /sdcard/part1: cannot create /data/app-cache/com.android.browser/BEC48C17295CAF9F550BCD500A0A6F03 /data/app-cache/com.android.browser/DE25D64D198E4BF84672045F0EAEE6CE /data/app-cache/com.android.browser/EAFCD74DF11E57A3571B1E4D0B768134/foo: directory nonexistant reboot and run part2 if get message there is fix ive done this process 5x and got this message only i fixed it and was still able root...hope that helps

If you're on 1.32.651.1, you should flash the Signed_Shipped version of the 1.32.651.1 rom and start over. That would clear up any lingering issues. I know it's frustrating to be stuck, but I'm sure it just something simple that's being overlooked. I've flashed back to a unrooted 1.32.651.1 tons of times because I didn't feel like trying to figure out what I missed.

Good point, which is why I included a picture of the files on the sdcard. So people could verify that they have the right files w/ the right size.
After I saw you post that you couldn't get the file, I clicked the link and downloaded it just fine. As I mentioned above, I'll try to provide a mirror when I get home tonight.
