^^^ exactly, 4pm we got hit with a national outage, from 4 to 8 i had to sit at the door and turn away customers because we had no access to their accounts or our inventory system, we where dead in the water. goodbye paycheck, hello pissed off customers.

we have had this phone in-store for about three weeks now, and from playing with it i knew when people actually seen one in action it would be a hit, glad to see so many people are enjoying it.

Called a couple Best Buys to see if any of them received extras, because I wanted the extra 500 points, but none did, stopped by a Sprint store during lunch, and got one. This is the first phone I've paid for since the Mogul, and well worth it.

started waking up ever 30 mins starting at 230, then I finally washed up around 530. headed out around 7 and got some mcdonalds there were 3 people in line when i drove by, went to safeway and got a couple drinks to wash my sausage mcmuffins down.

then i parked across from the store , and by 8 there were maybe 12 people in line.

the systems where so slow, finally got in waited 2 hours bought my phone retail. and they couldnt get it activated tld me to go online. tried going online had to go back to the store they got it activated finally

Mine was SOOOO uneventful...I went to RS at 530 (they opened at 6) I was the ONLY PERSON THERE! All of their EVOS were pre-orders (I was EVP...till today!)...but they had 2 extra...I got the first extra...Was the only fool...er, ah, person in the store, even when I left, 40 min later

Glad I made sure though...

went to BB for my preorder they wouldnt price match the sprint stores 449$. No evo for me.

After reading some of these stories my experience sounds like a walk in the park. Strolled into Radio Shack about 8:40 AM and there was one other guy picking up his pre-order, but like everywhere else the computer system was extremely slow and it ended up taking me 45 minutes for the store manager to finally get through the system and get me all checked out and activated. I actually got out before the guy who had been there longer than me. Can't complain though. Didn't have to deal with any line, and I got a car charger for $5 with the $20 accessory credit, so it's all good. No free donuts and coffee for us though.

Been playing with the phone off and on all day and I'm loving it! Best phone purchase I've ever made.

got to the sprint store at 7 30 opened at 8 ... I was able to walk right up to a rep and had the evo in 15 minutes with all my contacts already on it... The best part I used the airave line for my upgrade and final price no mail in rebate 216..

I loooooooove the phone, but had the experience from hell! LOL! Well, not really, just that I got to the Best Buy at 10am for an 11am appt, hoping I’d get set up a bit earlier, as I had to be at work at noon. Nope, the manager said I probably wouldn’t get set up much before that. Ok, well the Sprint rep said he’d give me a $25 credit for being patient. Cool! (turns out they opened at 7 and had called some people to see if they could come in early - wish they had called ME!)

Well, it went downhill from there… No sooner is it my turn, at a few minutes before 11, than the servers go down and pretty much STAY down, with momentary up times for the next TWO HOURS AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES!! YIKES!!! The guys couldn’t do anything! They tried phoning in orders, but we wouldn’t get the upgrade credit or anything, just charged the full price! They were trying, but it wasn’t their fault – Sprint’s servers were overloaded and their hands were tied. We were all pretty cool except one jerk who was making a fuss and cursing, as if only HIS time was valuable. “I’m on the clock at work and have to get out of here!” Well, bucko, that’s YOUR problem, for leaving work to get a phone! I was going to be VERY late for work and told him so, that we were all in the same boat and he wasn’t the only one!

I bought a Seidio case (the two piece slide together one) with a 10% discount given and they also gave us a Plantronics 230 bluetooth for free. Not bad.

When I FINALLY got it all worked out, I thanked the guys and wished them luck and that I’d say a prayer for them! LOL! It was really bad for them, but it seemed to FINALLY settle down. I was in the store for almost 4 hours! Sheesh!

Then I realized I never asked about how I was going to get that $25 credit. I'll give good ol' customer service a call tomorrow and see what they say. Hopefully I won't have to go off on someone! LOL! j/k

This phone is a massive leap from my touch pro, this morning i had went in to BB at 830 am, i beleive i was the 3rd person that arrived for their preorders. The phones were rite there just waiting for me, however i had my BB reward zone coupons for the bluetooth headset, and for an extra $40 i also got a car charger, zagg screen protecter, a sweet phone housing and to mention again a free bluetooth headset. The first thing that surprised me was not the phone, rather it was the box the phone was packaged in, i was like... what the egg carton... Also good thing i had gone on the forums the nite before to read about the auto update that prevents you from being able to root in the future, i just told the BB cell rep to not update it, and he was like "cool, less work for me". This phone puts the lotion on its skin!!!

yeah everyone else pretty much summed it up. after my third trip to the sprint store i left with the last evo in stock. started at 8 am, finished at 7pm. did get a snazzy case tho lol.
