I think you're missing the point... most people tweak winmo because they arent satisfied with it out of the box. Been there done that... there isnt nearly as much tweaking needing to be done for Android and thats why ill never go back to a winmo phone.

if you wanna be technical you can add ANY email account to your Gmail account... then any message on any email account you have will come through on exchange

Thats only half of it.. WinMo has much much better homescreen options than anything.. And some people go to great lengths making custom taskbars, themes, buttons, sliders, icons, and etc etc.. It looks like it will be a long while before Android even comes close to this.. And I wouldnt hold my breath for WP7, iPhone, or BB to even acknowledge that people want this..

If HTC can make Sense for Android, I'm sure we'll see more options in the future. I'd be willing to bet that Android Home is much more customizable than WinMo. That...and it's open source.

Also, Android is a much better built system. My gf doesn't get lag at all on her 2.1 Hero when doing any task, whereas my TP2 has trouble with the god damn messaging app bogging down my phone every day. I'm getting tired of it and I'm glad I'm moving over to a more stable platform.

winmo also has the sleep of death, constant freezes, its slow... and most of those "customizations" come in roms that have a whole list of bugs along with them. If it comes down to making a home screen pretty and a better functioning phone ill have to choose the latter. Plus better, more up to date and constantly refreshed apps. 7 customizable home screens... not one... to put anything of your liking on.

The common user could care less about home screen customizations anyways.. perhaps thats why so many of them are moving to Android.

i appreciate all the taskbars & various tweaks folks put together. thats what kept me from smashing the device to pieces out of frustration. i never flashed a custom rom but always did notice ppl having sum sort of issue with 1. those folks that put forth the effort to better these devices r greatly appreciated .. but the masses want reliability n windows hasnt ever provided me with anything more then a headache

Re: winmo users who are switching to evo . . .

Am I missing something? One comment was that there are more games on WinMo. I mean, I've seen games, which are still written for low rez older screens, and it looks like a postage stamp on TP2. From what I know, Android has 100x the games that are out there for WinMo, and actually much better executed, smoother. Unless someone wants to prove me wrong?

Re: winmo users who are switching to evo . . .

I also love the customization of winmo. But truly, what I normally change, is not necessarily winmo is it? It's the manilla files for sense/touchflo. Wouldn't these also be in android and accessible some way to alter?

I think i can deal without the customization, cause after awhile...i stopped changing my phone cause it got old, and flashing can be very buggy at times (although I loved Energy roms).

I'm going with the EVO and switching to android for the phone as a whole. I figure there has to be an equivalant to anything I need to use on winmo on android. If its not now, i'm sure it will be.
