NOT iphone-like at all

Re: winmo users who are switching to evo . . .

I don't think I'm going to really miss anything from the WM OS its self. Since Droid already has all of the apps I use in WM the switch should be painless. Plus the apps that it brings like Google Sky Map are just awesome.

I'm hoping to be able to build a ROM on a more stable, and faster backbone. If you look at what poeple have done on WM and apply it to something faster and more stable it should be very exciting. The chiefs should be able to do some great things once everyone gets up to speed. There will be a learning curve but I'm hoping its not that sharp.

Re: winmo users who are switching to evo . . .

this will be my first all touch screen phone and the unknown really frightens me sometimes. I don't know how responsive it will be or actually how long that responsiveness will last which is what really scares me paying out right for the phone... but i have insurance on it so it'll be all good if something EFFs up and breaks i guess.

With that being said i will definitely miss the hardware KB only for the fact i can take stress and less usage off the touch screen to make me feel better about the life of the touchscreen

What "stress" are you referring to??? The Evo will have a glass touchscreen like iPhone/iPod touch has. It's not that soft screen that the TP2 has. I had two iPod touch's and pound the hell out of the screen on a daily basis and there's not a thing wrong with it. One of my iPod's is about a year-and-a-half old and it works flawlessly.

I have the Hero and while i can tolerate its touchscreen kb the screen size and the lag kills it for me. Especially when u compare it to a iphone or ipod touch kb. I can work flawlessly on that. I hope the EVO doesnt have the keyboard lag

Re: winmo users who are switching to evo . . .

Imma miss mobile office. I use it often even to this day. Possibly the physical keyboard.

Plus the fun I had flashing my phone, so often in fact, my friends continually thought I had a new phone.

Re: winmo users who are switching to evo . . .

If there is no Mobile Office compatible software, then I'm definitely going to be forced to pass on Android. That would be a real "dumbing down" of my phone. Hopefully, there is something that works.

Re: winmo users who are switching to evo . . .

documents to go seems it is having problems with froyo for some, but it has high reviews on app brain. I am switching and between android forums and app brain, i am finding what I want. I bought my wife the hero, and compared to my winmo 6.1, its wonderful.
