Really? When I pre-ordered mine from Radio Shack I asked the guy if this would guarantee that I get an EVO and he told me yes. Ofcourse he could be full of it but he told me they are going to order however many preorders they have and then 4 or 5 extras. Anybody work at Radio Shack and know whether I will be guaranteed a phone or am I gonna have to show up extra early to make sure I get one?

When you place your order the computer ordered your phone from the distributor right then and there. NOW if the distributor runs out of phones your not going to get one. Also when you ordered, your phone has a number so its not who ever shows up first gets one. I'm not saying you wont just remember nothing in life is for sure except paying taxes and dieing. I'm going to the Sprint store to get mine if they run out then I have one on pre-order at RS so I'm covered. Also I ordered like 5 days after they went on pre-order at a store that does very little business.

I was under the impression evp usually ships early. Anyone that has previously preordered through evp have an opinion on this?

My TP2 was delivered early to me on 9/4/09 and it wasn't released thru telesales until 9/8/09. But I don't know if the EVO will be different considering the "buzz" around the phone.

For those in the Houston area, the best Buy near the galleria has a working EVO on display. Its the real deal and not a dummy phone. Just passing it along.......

talked face to face to one of the traveling spring reps who's training the best buys peeps and mentioned that I hadn't been able to even find a dummy phone out at one. he said that's because best buys aren't supposed to have them on display (and most don't even have one) at all until release day. da bum wouldn't even show me the working one he had in his hand behind his back either. said not allowed to. I think he was just bein' stingy.

Just confirmed with a Sprint store in New York City (42nd and 6th) that they will open at 8am and phones will be first come first serve. They will not discriminate against "full cash price" people.

Here's my situation. I currently have two line on my account. I used the 1st line to to upgrade to the TP2 last year already. The other line is eligible for an upgrade discount. My question is can I purchase the phone from the 2nd line(utilizing the discount) and use it on the 1st line. Specifically, I was thinking about pre-ordering it from BB. I'd like to get the phone before I leave for vacation on the afternoon of June 4th. That way I can really enjoy my vacation =)
